Tyrer has been far from undroppable before today and that goal was shocking. No point having an experienced keeper on the bench if not to push the young lad.
Not sure about Boot as I haven’t seen enough of him but after nearly dropping the ball into the net with his first touch he’s looked ok.

Both are decent goalkeepers mate, and I agree no player should think he can't be dropped, but I think dropping Tyrer or Horton would be wrong at this stage. We've been on a great run and both have been part of it, so I'm for playing them again.
We've lost a game, so we dust ourselves down and go again. Boot will get his chance, I'm sure of that.

Spot on, let him play Tuesday and if he drops a clanger bring in Boot. Tyrer wasn't the only one off it today though and if we're going to bench all those who had a bad game today, we look like ditching half the team for the midweek match.

oddly enough we can afford more slip ups, we just don't want any... i think losing hurts more when you're going for promotion as it feels like a much bigger deal than when you're just sitting mid table for instance. the annoying thing this season is that for our amazing points tally to date we are not further clear than we are.
keepers make mistakes, sadly they most often lead to goals, they say keepers earn you 10 points per season and that can be the difference in the end.

The opposite argument is that both Barnet and Solihull in 2nd and 3rd place playing at home, whilst we were away against a team that have an excellent record on their own patch, had a massive opportunity to close the gap on the leaders. But, both of them failed. Did you expect them to?

Without the point deduction Southend would be 5th right now, they’re a decent side. Our nearest 3 rivals (Barnet, Bromley, Solihull) won’t get much at their place either I’d wager. Only one of them has played at Roots Hall so far, Solihull, and they lost 5-0

I agree, Southend are a good side I’d like to see them make the play offs.
