    Nah, mate.

In fact it pales into insignificance against a bloke obsessing over a Labour politician maybe, perhaps, just possibly avoiding around three grands' worth of tax whilst offering barely a paragraph to criticise a recent Tory chancellor dodging millions...

I have said that breaking the rules is breaking the rules, and his was equally as bad. The value is irrelevant when you break the law, tax evasion is tax evasion. He has of course admitted to his mistake and paid the tax, and a million plus in penalties. Ms Rayner is still protesting her innocence... and not disclosing the fantastic advice she got (which lots of us would love to know..it might help others) but expecting others to disclose theirs...

So in case you struggle with words. The Tory was wrong. He has paid up and admitted his error.

Rayner is pleading innocence but wont show how, but wants others to disclose their advice.

He's leaving politics, probably partly as a result of his tax error. Wonder if she will do the same...?

PS if its only £3k, we can all underpay £3k can we? I handed over nearer £8k on sale of my house which had been my PPR but stopped being when I moved into a different one. I got tax advice to be sure I paid the right amount.... I'd happily have £3k back if its only £3k and not important, could help my daughter with her 3 kids under 8, for which she gets sod all help (despite not working...)

PS you ignored the other one. Imagine it said he was a Tory MP and type what you would type then, go on....!

No because that wasn’t the question, but if I had then the deduction would have been largely nine tenths of fu** all as I very rarely bet tbh, and betting on town adds to the stress of what’s riding on the result if doing it on a game by game basis, so I avoid that.

It is definitely the first time I’ve ever bet on town getting promoted and the decision to throw £400 on it was made at the end of a long hot sunny day in Rhodes last summer and fuelled by copius amounts of sauce.

In fact if I remember correctly it was the night we battered Matlock and I got a bit giddy!

Finishing 2nd or 3rd paid £425 back and were we ever going to finish lower than 3rd? Christ we finished 3rd the season before when Wrexham and County blew everyone else away. It was buying money.

I'm sure they say something about not gambling when drunk or chasing losses... but glad it turned out well! And of course there was always a chance we wouldnt finish 3rd, say if the Kirks had decided not to invest more, or Cookie had been poached, or a couple of the other teams had hit a mad winning run like last season....

Now how much on this season when on your jollies ;)

My thoughts? It's within the rules... but that doesn't necessarily make it right!

If the boot was on the other foot (or the other party) I am sure it would already have been posted.

Ps I love the "couldn't sell as in negative equity" whilst sitting on another house in London in positive equity...wonder what he would have done had he lost his seat?

And whilst we are on the subject of hypocrisy, this one is up there with the best:

Angela Rayner has called for Jeremy Hunt to publish any advice he has received over an apparent conflict of interest – despite refusing to publish her own tax details.

You really couldnt make it up!

Absolutely agree with Esther, is the Civil Service not a University Campus

I would have thought there were more important things to concentrate on than the colour of a lanyard...

    Like this:

In the Budget, he announced that productivity in public services is 5.9% below pre-pandemic levels. It’s actually even worse than he says. According to the ONS, public sector productivity is lower than it was in 1997. This means that we are having to spend considerably more money than we did in 1997 to get the same results.

Good job its funded by the taxpayer as they'd be bust otherwise. Didnt someone on here say we should nationalise stuff as it would make it more efficient.... Hmmmm...

    Hi,
Sorry to bother you. I believe you worked for a hotel chain in London and previously had access to discount codes.
It’s a bit of a long shot and very last minute. But could you let me know if this is still the case.
I only ask as my part is due to go to London on Friday and the hotel she was booked into has canceled last minute.
    Thanks
    Andy ...

Hi. I'm a season ticket holder who unfortunately will be travelling to Gran Canaria on 8th of Jan.
Happy to get you a ticket for Chelsea if you're struggling. Regards Nigel.

Thanks for the invite - would have loved to have joined you but I am moving house tomorrow so day not in the office or in London!
Might have joined as the political conversations might have been more up my street than most on the board!

If you live in London, you're welcome to join a couple of Spireites tomorrow (Monday) evening where the main topic of conversation will be Chesterfield FC amongst other things. All very friendly. We'll be in the Williamson Tavern near St Pauls about 7.30. Sorry for the short notice.
    regards
    John
