When he says his debut, I think he means his first game as a spectator, not a player!

Yes, just a humble eight year old spectator - apologies for the confusion!

hundreds if I thought about it
but
Championship under Duncan
Wrexham Fa cup
Hurst V Luton
Dave Waller getting us the victory from 3 nil down
both the 7 nils
Alan Birchs sublime goal V Colchester
Mick Henderson tackling Gatting around the waist still can hear the thump when he hit the floor
the abandoned games for fog and floodlight failure
the gate caving in V Brighton and the look of horror on both set of supporters when they could actually get at each other so funny ( maybe you had to be there) :ninja:
beating Rangers

and the worst in the era of Brown standing on the closed kop singing my heart out secretly believing I would never stand there again or ever watching a game again cos I swore if we folded football was off my agenda
Can't salute yer can't find a flag if that don't suit yer that's a drag

Halfway at the Compton (before the seats) no mans land, loads of banter, loads of laughs with opposing fans.
Especially the Burnley pie throwing battle!!!!

Martin Allen curling a 20 yarder in the Cross Street end circa 1993. :

Michael Carrick scoring the winning penalty in 2002

Strange case of amnesia around October 2006 :ninja:

Seriously ...Dec 16th 67 Town 4 ( Randall 3 and Hollett ) Crewe 1 ...the first game my Dad ever took me to

Also remember going Garrity when Gary Simpson scored against the Scum from Bramall Lane early 80s

Worst moments , Folan taking advantage of Reo Coker's ability co control the ball with his bum and Asswad
THEY FLY SO HIGH , NEARLY REACH THE SKY , AND LIKE MY DREAMS THEY FADE AND DIE

hmm a few very indifferent memories
one was a day when we beat grimsby at home and their fans were being very mardy and decided to try and take the fortress ...
yes the liverpool game here was a great night too prob one of the largest crowds of later years to be in here i think it was around 11 thousand even though we lost
the mansfield play of game was a great game
also a few great cup games in there wrexham forrest ect ect

There have been so many priceless memories of Saltergate, but the everlasting memory for me was the one I've posted before.
It was a reserve game in the late 60s early 70s against York City on a freezing night played in blizzard conditions. The whole ground was white over York played in white and we played with a white ball. There were about 20 of us kopites at the match and we marched round to the Cross Street end to seek cover under the old wooden scoreboard. We through a couple of snowballs at their keeper which missed until a sole copper who had followed us round told us to stop with a freindly warning. We went in 3-0 down but it was a decent game. The 2nd half brought a big turnaround as we all huddled together on the kop, they changed the matchball to orange, and Tony Moor scored a stunning hattrick ( I was never a big fan of his).We won the game 4-3.
I'm dreading the final day at Saltergate, no doubt there will be plenty of tears ( led by me), its still the only true football ground in the football league, I'll miss the kop the most. I can remember watching the floodlights be installed as I played football on our school playground and it was awesome to see the men at the top of the pylons. Another big memeory was when we played Stoke in the league cup and came back with two Nobby Clarke goals to take them to a replay. We kicked off at 4-45pm as we had no lights then and I can remember stopping behind to do my homework and then rang across the road for the match.
Long Live the Saltergate memories.

Being pretty young there are a few memories that stick out for me.

The goal Vs Wrexham is the first, being very young i can just about remember this.

After that i seem to remember our demolishing of many a team at Saltergate in 2000, the 4-1 v the Scabs and Sean Parrish's hatrick against York or Macclesfield maybe? in another 4-1 sticks out, think he got one from about the half way line where i was stood on Compton.

Nivens scream v ManCity and the late goals v Westham and Charlton will also never be forgotten for the absolute bedlam on the Kop after them..

But the one sticking out most is Hurstys goal V Luton to keep us up, pure jubilation, relief, everythin!
Town, Town will tear you apart..again!

Hi Diddy;

Yes I used to go on the Branny flyers (Bransons buses) run by big Baz, and later on with the Masons Arms we had some geat trips ith them. I can remember us taking 5 old Hulleys bangers to Rochdale where we won 4-1 in the days of King Kevin Randall.
