My Dad mentioned to me an interview he heard on Radio 2 yesterday afternoon between Steve Wright and the Wigan Owner, Dave Whelan. Wright pressed Whelan to recall a part of his book where he was on a train at the end of the war:-
Whelan was a young lad who had been to see his Aunty, his Aunty had packed him off back home on the train, on the way home he got talking to a soldier and it turned out both Whelan & the soldier were getting off at the same stop, the soldier asked Whelan where he was going and what his address was, the soldier turned out to be his Dad who he had never met!

As a kid me and the family once went to Skegness and met with our next door neighbours even though we didn't even know they had gone...... Spooky...
Guess I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue!
