Lets be honest and its a great position to be in, but most players in the bottom 2 divisions wouldnt mind signing for us at the moment

True enough, but maybe the flipside is that those presently under contract but deemed potentially surplus to requirements may prove difficult to move on. I'm hoping we stop wasting money subsidising any player's next move...

If Wyke does sign then surely Quigley moving on.

Not calling Quigley as he certainly played his part last season, but realistically would there be many takers?

Agree - I think Cookie was aiming for that as soon as he came back to CFC. The disappointment of getting so close last season has just made him even more determined to achieve it. Given a reasonable amount of luck, I see top three as being attainable.

Will be interesting to see who is shipped out as the freeing up of budget will doubtless have a significant bearing on the re-shaping still to be done.

Strange we?ve signed 4 players but this feels like the quietest transfer window in ages. Wonder if it?s because the NL season finishes so early compared to the EFL?

Surely we'll be hearing of departures in the not too distant future...

One thing that Williams has in his favour is he can play in different positions with him looking comfortable at right back as well as at centre back. I'm a sentimental old sod who would've gone with the team that got us promoted, but I know that can't happen. We needed to improve especially at the back, because watching some of the goals against us is frightening.

Williams' versatility is obviously no hinderance but for both him and Palmer, the question is are they able to make the step up? They've both plied their trade in the 5th tier - and certainly in Palmer's case, the call made by his previous employers was that it was probably a step too far.
