What's maguire like? Heard a fair bit of people rating him

He was on the bench not so long ago! Harry and his dad were in the eaststand in case he came on.

I wasnt actually being cynical just wondering if he was any good..yes jack waddle was signed on name he had only played in the sheffield league and his pro contract was the biggest joke ever it does happen...like I said he was released by Sheffield utd So if he will be in our first team by the end of next season sheff u must have 14 better.

why so miserable? if you want to know if any of the youth team players are any good or not why not pop down and watch them rather than sniping on here.

The game was very enjoyable and we scored some cracking goals and played some very attractive stuff. We seemed to have good players all over the park - a vast improvement on last season.

It will be a shame if we don't have a reserve/U21 team next season to allow these players some more time to develop as several of them, at least, look like they could come good in a couple of years. Does anybody out there know a local business who might be persuaded to sponser such a team?

What pathetic cynicism. Why would we sign somebody due to name?. He'll play for the first team before the end of next season.

So he's decent?

wasn't being miserable just wondered if he was a player that was rolling off people's tongues due to his name, it wasn't cynical either but it would be naive if you thought it did not happen as for investment I don't think them upstairs see academy football as anything other than an unnecessary expenditure and in reality are satisfying protocol .

The only tongue his name rolled off was yours but since you mention him, if the Deedahs released him ,they made a mistake.

Well let's hope so they are prone to drop the odd clanger kev davies a prime example, will be interesting to see how he does.Im always a bit sceptical as why kids get released there is a massive difference between cat 3 football and cat 1 and 2 stocksbridge don't fit into any of those brackets be interesting to see who we get next.

If you mean who do they play in the next round....

Chesterfield FC @ChesterfieldFC · 12h 12 hours ago
Next up for the young Spireites in the FA Youth Cup will be @AFCFYLDE, who won their game with @NcleBenfield this evening.

Just happened to see that last night after we'd won. Presume there may be more info on the FA site or something.

Chesterfield Youth Team have failed to reach the third round since 2006, when we lost to Birmingham City 4-0. All the details are on the FA page.

The one thing last night was the quality of our corner kicks which were varied all night. The 1st team could take some hints from them. With the lac of a back up striker,I hope PC puts young Beasley on the bench he's quality.

Thought we had him on loan but didn't know we had to pay for him after the loan

What a cracking prospect. I have to say I'm really pleased by the work being done on Player to promote the Youth team. The regular 11am Saturday start time for home league games needs moving to generate more support.
