Did the attempt made last year fizzle out simply because it was too costly? If we had an idea of cost and had a target to aim for, then we might be able to find a remedy - and it would seem that you are the man!
I for one would be very happy to make a contribution and I'm sure there are many others too. Cheers.

Full reply tomorrow (had 21 hours of a 4 year old and a sickness bug).
Erm yeah. It’s basically a double cost issue.
1 we would need to upgrade our host.
Which would mean
2 we would need to upgrade the board and then pay a yearly subscription to that too.

Sincere commiserations, hope all is soon well - and thanks for replying so quickly.
I'm a total technophobe but can understand the need to upgrade the host, but in what way would we need to upgrade the board?
Does it cost us anything at the moment?
Sorry, I'll shut up and wait for your full reply!
Cheers.

How much would that be? Maybe a crowd funding option could cover the costs How many users are you limited to at any given time?

Is Freeforums.net an option? I find their boards decent to use. The free version has adds but they are not particularly intrusive.

I say, keep things as they are- not broke, don't fix it.
I certainly don't want to pay a subscription- I think that would kill the board- though a Crowdfunder is a decent option if needed.

Indeed where would the Club be today but for the contribution of 'BB' members.
The 'RLR' thing can be a right royal pain in the ass, yet perhaps it's also a reflection of just how popular this forum really is...

What about setting up an amazon affliate account?
Doesn't cost anyone anymore to buy the items they want and the money earned could go towards hosting costs / upgrading plans etc?

Appreciate where you are coming from to generate the needed funds to help pay for any improvements, but for me adverts would be so annoying.
Perversely I actually get excited when i see the maximum resource limit reached error as it tells me somthing interesting has happened at the club
