Kate Bush - Rock?
Blackmores Night - Rock?
Neil Diamond - Rock?
Joe Cocker - Rock?
Neil Young - Rock?
Alan Parsons Project - Rock?
Pink Floyd - Rock?
Enigma - Rock?
Barclay James Harvest - Rock
Peter Gabriel -Rock?
Yes - Rock?
Bob Seger - Rock?
Need I go on? Without actually counting I would hazard a guess that less than half of my 4000+ albums would be classed as rock.

Blimey! that's just like my old collection as well. Some great bands there - whatever genre you put them into.

Anyone for the coral?

They made some cracking tunes. Loved their first two albums

Yep. Agreed. Went to see them in Liverpool & it was the drunkest event of any sort I've ever been to. Proclaimers supported.

Need I go on? Without actually counting I would hazard a guess that less than half of my 4000+ albums would be classed as rock.

Neil Young (Harvest Moon is a timeless beauty), Pink Floyd, Yes (Aren't 90125 and Big Generator guitar driven, synthy pop??) would all probably make my top 30 artists/bands.

The others....haven't listened to enough of their stuff to make an informed opinion.

Nothing wrong with Joy Division though Fish, and those 2 Yes albums I mentioned are comfortably more pop orientated than anything Joy Division ever did.

The Courteeners new album ANNA at the minute.

Not as good as Falcon, but worth a listen.

Certainly a break from the proper Yes music and I agree slightly poppy but just a short blip in their history and very short lived. Back to their best once again. Superb live

I've listened to it once online & it seemed decent.

Got hold of the Bastille album after being nagged by my brother to listen to it and it appears to be very good. Taken over from the new Biffy Clyro album as current choice of listening although i really need to have a listen to the new Courteeners album seeing as i'm going to see them on Friday night.

It's decent Jon.

Quite a shift in sound from their previous though, more polished. Liam Fray's voice sounds the best it ever has. Van Der Graaf, Marquee, and In Love With A Notion are the 3 standouts for me.

We had it on in the car the other day but cos i was driving i wasnt really listening that much. Hopefully stick it on properly but sounds promising for the gig on Friday night. Annoyingly i've just had to turn down a ticket for the Biffy gig at the Arena as i'm doing something else.

R'lass and I are going to the Sheff gig too, we saw them at Rock City last month and they were sound then.

Other gigs on the horizon: I Am Kloot (again, 2nd gig of the current tour - i love that band!) and Ricky Ross (Deacon Blue frontman) with his solo gig at The Lowry in Salford on the day after my birthday/day we're driving home from the Fleetwood (Blackpool) weekender

Saw Deacon Blue at Sheffield City Hall last November i think it was...they were fantastic.

I've not got a lot on after this Courteeners one other than being dragged to see Pet Shop Boys in Manchester for my other halves birthday. Did go and see Train in Leeds a couple of weeks back which was good.
