To me Allen will always be remembered as the man that sent a traditional League 1/League 2 yo yo club of nearly 100 years, to 2 consecutive relegations to non league, and nearly a third without the intervention of Tom Dentons, Scott Boden and Nathan Tyson’s vital goals.

The man deserves no plaudits, he made some awful decisions at the time and to me is no better than Norton Lea and the Darren Brown’s of this world.

Dreadfully unfair on Norton Lea. He was old-fashioned and tight but not a criminal. Sure, he sold to a chancer who turned out to be a crim but I was among those who wanted him to sell the club at the time.

Bang average player at best. Average at everything

That means he’s better than half of other players at everything, and worse than half of other players at everything.

Just shows how cook can spot a player

Like Ephron Clarke when we were after him.

What's the link to Cook here please?

An example that springs to mind is Tom Curtis. In the basement league he looked like nothing more than a willing runner but when we got into the league above we suddenly had a player.

Conversely , Phil Robinson dint have anything like the same influence in the league above as he did in the basement.

I thought Robinson was excellent for us throughout.

The highlights feature the goal disallowed from a corner- looks like Naylor put it in though the commentator said it was Jacobs. What on earth was it disallowed for?

Ultimately both teams were just playing for the right to get battered by a Petrodollar XI in the Final. Would the losing finalists qualify for Europe?
