Yeah trying to prevent a race to the bottom, and trying to ensure employers follow employment law - outrageous nonsense.

Barristers accept a 15% pay offer.
A new hope.

Technically an increase of 15% in legal aid fees, not a pay rise. Just before every union goes out and demands the same to keep the status quo on their respective pay.... ;)

Isn’t legal aid funded by HM govt? Same as the nurses employer is?

Technically

If it sounds like a pay rise, looks like a pay rise and presented as a pay rise it probably is a pay rise.

Weird how the threat full scale strike has suddenly forced the government into accepting the recommendation of the independent review that was published months ago.

Kamakwasi is going to show his workings how he’s going to balance his budget, it’s taken him that long to find the fag packet he wrote it on the back of!

I've spent the day laughing at all those who spend their days accusing folk of being 'woak' getting their hosiery into haywires at Sturgeon saying she "detests the tories".

Y'know, the very same folk who thought it fine for Truss to insult not only the Scottish but other national leaders, and dismissed Bozo's catalogue of offensive remarks as a bit of a giggle...

Gotta give Teresa Coffey credit - she really is "world beating" (hey - remember that phrase?) at ducking, dodging and deflecting questions.

As once again proven as today's stooge.

Infact it really was remarkable how little the Deputy Prime Minister - effectively the country's second in command - knew about, well, pretty much anything: https://www.huffingt...kukhpmg00000008

But then it was some of her evasion that probably spoke loudest - when refusing to answer why she voted against protecting kids from fag smoke in cars and to confirm if the government will stand by it's pledge to create a smoke free UK by twenty thirty.

Hell, she wouldn't even give a yes or no answer to whether she thinks it's unhealthy to smoke.

Of course this might be some perverted extension of right wing so called 'libertarianism' (which dun't extend to freedoms regarding cannabis, oddly enough), however it might also be because the woman in charge of the NHS has recieved "hospitality" from tobacco companies or is under the influence of Tufton Street 'think tanks' funded by them: https://www.theguard...an-insiders-say

Starmer looked very much in control yesterday when pressing Truss on her commitment not to cut public services.

And they're their own worst enemies.

I mean, yest'di we had Reece-Mogg touring the studios desperately blaming current chaos on everybody and anybody but his government.

Including the Governor of the Bank of England doing his level best to mitigate the Kwar crash.

But he expected punters to believe it 'cos he said it in the patronisingly pompous tones that've seen him become a laughing stock on so many platforms.

Oh, and the Pantomime Toff feels everyone's pain as his mortage has gone up too (?!?).

Then today Key Burley confronted James 'not so' Cleverley with reports of a full blown revolt at a behind-closed-doors meeting between Truss and MP's last night.

His response went summat like 'Ukraine...growth...tax cuts...something...something...something...Labour'.

So a somewhat astonished KB replied 'Hold on - it's the IFS, IMF, BoE and your own backbenchers saying it's the budget making everyone's mortgage go through the roof, nowt to do with Labour'.

However JC remained 'on message' by repeating 'Errr, Ukraine...growth...tax cuts...etc...etc...etc...'.

Also adding a cringeworthy reference to the 'Anti Growth Coalition' thing.

Funny thing is though, these're exactly the same mantra mouthing stooges who were endorsing the policies they're now trying to trash only a few short weeks ago...

Kwartang reportedly now going with 'wait and see' when asked whether or not it's going to be the U turn of all U turns.

C4 news was funny last night. They interviewed some posh financial wizard from Wall Street and asked her how Americans viewed us financially, she said somewhere around Italy

He closed the interview by asking whether Rees-Mogg’s claim that the budget had nothing to do with the financial crash had credibility, she said “without getting too technical, that’s total bollux”

On terminating the interview he apologised for the use of “bollux”. At the end of the program he retracted the apology - apparently by broadcasting standards, bollux is acceptable if it is used to describe someone ‘talking rubbish’
