And this is my big sticking point still. ?Well grow the economy?. Just words. How? By when? By how much? Raynor was awful at this last night. Ok shes not Chancellor but shes Deputy Leader and should be able to explain. But then again I?ve heard no one explain it.

Like when Starmer said hell solve the Drs strike by sitting down with them to negotiate. Genius! But he won?t pay them 35%.

    Seriously ABC

as someone said it was clear with Raynor last night that she had some scripts she was allowed to say - which basically said nothing.... and therefore she looked crap. They are clearly entering this election in the knowledge that giving as little away as possible is the bets route...

I'm sure the (main) unions will be more amenable to a beer and sandwiches with a Labour govt, but I dont think the doctors are in that group.

We are also going to have however many new teachers - how, my experience is more are leaving the profession and encouraging new people in is a challenge -so as it stands we will have more kids in state schools and a bunch of vacancies to teach them...

What, like the Tories do at every election? Insisting they are going to lower taxes then do the exact opposite meaning we have the highest tax burden since the 1970's? Yeah OK!

Only if you are a higher earner or a company... https://ifs.org.uk/a...have%20changed.

Amazing to think a Tory govt has presided over that state of affirs, maybe they are the party for the common man...or maybe it Reform, who want to drive up wages by keeping out migrants, improve the NHS for people with less money by encouraging others to pay for their own care...

And Labour want to throw more money at things by taxing education, and finding a magic money tree through growth but they dont say how the growth will come...

Question: why are neither the government or those who've spent five or more years championing them trumpeting Brexit as a huge reason to vote tory if it's been the massive success they insist....?

Maybe they've moved on. After all, its not a distinguishing factor for both of the main parties, they both say out means out... right? so this election, between them, its not a distinguishing factor.

I assume you will vote Lib Dem as the only one saying they will take us back in?

    Haha that is mental

I'd agree (sorry Mr Mercury), he was the ultimate untrustworthy soundbite, lazy arsed shyster. I'd have any of the current lot (except Farage) over him....

I'd take Tony Blair over all of them though... and he has a few skeletons in his cupboard!

So reform are on the cusp of overtaking the Tories, and the Lib Dem support has gone up when Labour's has gone down. Rayner was again voted worst performer in the 7 person debate last night (not sure who managed to watch it to be able to vote) and Farage and Mordaunt the highest scorers (well according to that wonderfully balanced paper the Telegraph).

Tice wants to give tax relief on private health care - that might go some way to cover the 60%+ increase in premiums this last year - and now I'm waiting for all the gnashing and wailing about a two tier health system from all the people who think a two tier pension system is fine....

It really is an ABC (copyright, S42blue!) election isnt it. The thing is things will look good for the first 12 months whoever wins as the reduced inflation, redued interest rates, benefits of lower NI etc start to feed through.....

    Hi,
Sorry to bother you. I believe you worked for a hotel chain in London and previously had access to discount codes.
It’s a bit of a long shot and very last minute. But could you let me know if this is still the case.
I only ask as my part is due to go to London on Friday and the hotel she was booked into has canceled last minute.
    Thanks
    Andy ...

Happy to get you a ticket for Chelsea if you're struggling. Regards Nigel.

Thanks for the invite - would have loved to have joined you but I am moving house tomorrow so day not in the office or in London!
Might have joined as the political conversations might have been more up my street than most on the board!

If you live in London, you're welcome to join a couple of Spireites tomorrow (Monday) evening where the main topic of conversation will be Chesterfield FC amongst other things. All very friendly. We'll be in the Williamson Tavern near St Pauls about 7.30. Sorry for the short notice.
    regards
    John
