So you asked where the money had gone when we had lost a million, paying for the squad we have etc. How much more do you want him to push the boat out to get this quality striker? If he's quality I would assume he will be under contract, so how much do you advocate we pay for the fee and then in wages?

I,m with you on this but with no money this season it won't happen
Dave Allen stated at the player of the year do that this season was about consolidation and then push on the following year.

Scraping 6, which would be the most likely scenario of any, guarantees nothing in the lottery of the play offs. The team that finished top in the PO's goes up, more than any other position.

I would like to see the stats on that because it doesn't feel that way
Whatever, highlighted bit is a major contradiction

It is hard to see how we move up a level without investment in the squad. Who would believe thar the current team would be playing well without our two main midfielders?
I would like to see the team improved but not really sure who is out there much better than what we've got.
Clearly we have no cash and any player investment must come from lower rather than higher leagues if we are to afford anyone and hopefully develop them for onward sale.
I seriously doubt Dave Allen is going to fund a new striker. He is more likely to sanction the spending of monies recouped from the sale of Ryan or Doyle if offers come in during January. In the meantime we lie 7th in the league and I would say it's a fair reflection of where we currently are as a team.

How is it?
Exit: found this, but this is based on the championship play offs only:
http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/22437083
But the first table says 35% of the teams that topped the play off places went up, more than any other position.
My "lottery" comment was more aimed at people like warfey who seemingly assume that making the plau offs automatically means we'lol win them and gain promotion.
IF we did make them, and not go up, I doubt attendances would increase massively, certainly not enough to warrant the "chuck money at it" approach some are calling for.

Another expert in spending other people's money...
And where does it leave Uncle Dave and the club if it doesn't come off?

First and foremost we need the debt reduced and for the club to trade in the black. Otherwise its going to end in tears.

Not in the footballing world, how much do you realistically expect Mr Allen to pump into our team. You love our club as do I and every member of this board, Dave Allen doesn't to him we are an investment. It is easy to spout what should be done with someone else's money, it really is time people had a reality check.
We would all love Mr Allen to give Cooky Five Million to buy x,y and z however we would quickly become Spireite fc or similar as we would have gone under had to rename ourselves and start again. We are currently running at a loss, averaging around 7k at home, we are as big as we're going to be. Unrealistic targets and aspirations is all I am reading, we are were we are, were as big as were realistically going to be.
We have come a long way since Mr Allen has been involved, let's learn to appreciate that and where we are now compared to where we were six seasons ago. If I am honest I am amazed we still have a club with what we as fans have been through.
