More bad news for those crossing their fingers, toes and eyes hoping Labour don't win... https://www.standard...l-b1142921.html

Interesting that Labour are also down... but Lib Dems are up and Reform double. Doesnt seem to be a mention for the workers party, maybe it was done before Rochdale.

And Sunak's rating is at its worst, and Starmers just above its worst...

What a choice we have.

And no Chris, its not anti Labour, I'm just posting the bits you somehow missed....

I heard Rachel Reeves speech and tbh liked her message of going for growth rather than tax, tax, tax (which was a worry but wrong IMO). She appeared strong and no nonsense….but I did fear she’d be seen as too centrist (at best…not as though it’ll make a difference to the result).

But comments like this re Thatcher will no doubt ruffle a few feathers. Be interesting to hear what the more staunch supporters think.

I also like Rachel Reeves - although of course we all want growth not tax, isnt that what Liz Truss was aiming for....

I think Lammy is right be the way, Maggie did have a vision, whether you liked it or not, and she had principles, whether you liked them or not. Compare that to the populist rubbish today who just seem to say what will win votes and get them paid a bit longer... (I'll include 30p Lee in that group...)

See Owen Jones has left Labour to join a pressure group that is more left wing, and plans to stand against shadow ministers etc in the election. He think SKS is too centrist....

Has he not seen who wins elections? Being a lefty and getting no power and nothing done is no good to anyone!

Nice to see KS indulging in a bit of “flag shagging” with the election coming up.

Good old Nike, the same company that made a pair of trainers with actual human blood in them. Nice to see the future PM in league with the devil just like the current one.

seems that membership is declining rapidly as they become electable... sure there is some theory that could be made from that....

https://morningstaro...party-over-gaza

Down 200k since corbyn apparently, or c40%. And down 20k in first 2 months of this year - or just over 5%...

Interested in the explanations as to why when they are more popular in the polls they are less popular with their members?

Pollsters views are very interesting, especially in the way they divere, on another day I am sure you would be saying lies, damn lies and statistics...

I like this page... https://www.markpack...poll-scorecard/

From this you could conclude that the Tories are up in the latest 6 polls featured, the gap could be as low as 15% (has it been that low for a while) and Labour support is down in more polls than it is up...

As they always say, only one poll matters and we dont know the date of that yet....

(But I'd be amazed if the LDs had 22 seats after a GE, that suggests alot of tactical voting, or we dont want either of the main two... and of course no one has seen a manifesto yet!)

.....and the resurrection of George Galloway is very interesting.
How can any Labour supporter ignore the content of his maiden speech?

Well this Labour supporter ignored it easily enough.

I can see us getting 22 seats quite easily, a couple of Scottish seats are between the SNP & LD with Lab & Con a long way behind, and in our major target areas of the South West it's between LD & Con with Lab a long way behind, I fully expect us to target Rees-Mogg's seat in North East Somerset as a priority to get him out for starters.

Do agree with you on this. GG is a stopped clock on a couple of issues, but has incredibly regressive opinions on some social issues.

Latest poll has them at 49 and Labour the biggest party in Scotland. I stopped taking it seriously when I read both items...

As Maggie once said, there is only one poll that matters and that will be in the first week of November I believe...

Amazing. It is to be hoped that these honourable men will resign as Councillors and re-stand as Independents. Only 4 of them are contesting seats in the May election.
Whilst you’re googling can you post a link to the 63 existing Conservative MPs who have already indicated why they are not standing at the next GE. Might be worthwhile posting a link to last week’s resignations of Halfon and Heappey as well. They were interesting given they were deemed RS fans. You don’t think the PM has lost control of his Party do you?
