RIP Chesterfield FC
Its finally happened after 50 years I left a match at half time.
The last 5 years have been horrendous I left the ground in tears.
Don't know if and when I may ever return.
Watching my Club dying in front of me is just too painful to endure anymore

Sorry Dad, never thought it would come to this
Once a blue always a blue, still a dreamer!!!!!

I left before half time one game under Saunders (away at Blackpool) and felt emotionally vigorated and mentally freed in doing so.

I left Vale Park after about 20 mins when 4-0 down under Rushbury, even then that seemed bad. I could have never imagined it would have come to this.

Very sad times.

I think the mood has turned today. The club has died.
A new hope.

Me and my 12 year old walked out at 4-1 tonight, and he, to say he’s lived all his life in Leeds is so loyal to town. Just can’t stomach this any more, I said to him driving back tonight, it’s like watching the slow death of a cherished relative.

Shame on you you see dah c***s

I never even cheered the goal we scored. I'm numb. The club is just an empty shell, it was so quiet tonight you could hear the Hartlepool players shouting to each other. Our players didn't though.
No desire shown by anybody apart from Fondop.

On a side note though I wish the Hartlepool player is alright cos that looked nasty.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Like many,i,ve seen some pretty horrific performances over the last half century but never one even remotely as bad as tonight. It was as spineless and gutless as it is possible to imagine and you really had to see it to believe it. Not that many did!. I have lost every shread of faith in Sheridan and am now convinced he has completely lost the plot and also what remains of the dressing room. I am almost convinced he is deliberately trying to be sacked as his tactics and team selection seem to be drawn out of a hat and have gone from bewildering to utterly shambolic. It,s hard to imagine how anyone can improve this shower of garbage masquerading as footballers, but i,m utterly certain if Sheridan remains as manager for much longer, this team will be relegated, with flying colours. Never imagined for an instant that things could possibly have got so bad,but the worst is probably still to come.

Another one here with 50 years behind him. My Town, my league club, my pride home and away, East Midland 'buses, cars, trains, ferries, hitch-hiking across the country, sleeping in tents and in station waiting rooms, enjoyed every minute and of course, the people, the friends, because that's what it's all about. Shang-Hi in the social club, flying glass and asking for a lager and getting a dirty look, Laurel and Hardy and Zokko before heading for the ground. Win or lose, at least we were a league club. The excitement, the anticipation of a Saturday, my favourite day and in the future, the Championship. All gone, trampled in the dust.

Damn them, each and every one of them who is responsible for this demise.

Me too, over 50 years of watching our beloved club. I feel for all in this post and all Spireites past and present. I feel the pain for all true Spireites concerned. We love our Club, Our Town, Our History, Our Memories. The present owners and Senior Management administration are totally detached from this Club and its long proud history and don't deserve these fans. Sad times for CFC.
There aint no Soul left in these old shoes... since you've been gone

Half interested, glanced at my phone when score updates came through. Shrugged, couldn’t even get cross with it. Could barely even be bothered to take to social media to register some form of dissatisfaction. The emotional ties to Chesterfield Football Club (RIP) are fading away.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.

Whilst we were losing 5-1 in front of 3000 odd I was at Barnet watching them beat Ebbsfleet scoring 5 goals in front of about 700 fans.

Let that sink in how far we have declined and the loyalty of the Town fan base

Like me, you are probably a Town exile. I used to be proud of been a Town fan, now I'm embarrassed.

Up until 5 years ago I was a ST holder and wouldn't think twice about making the 300 mile round trip of an evening to watch my beloved Town play at home. Now I don't even bother going to watch them when they play down here.

Shame on all those that have destroyed MY club.

Whilst you were watching Barnet score 5 in front of 700, I was watching Hastings United beat East Grinstead Town in front of 181 fans. Nice club house with some good local ales. Final score: 12:3 !! Bizarre game. And these 2 teams are in the same league as Chichester who play Tranmere this weekend.
