I wasn't 1 of them, but he does have a little dig.. 'you can't do that without money' when talking about some of our players, and that despite us NOT having the biggest budget in the league, so clearly if that money isn't well spent, it makes little difference.

He gave a suck up interview after we just won the team of the season award. Do you honestly think he would say that we didn't deserve it?
This is the same Adam Virgo who said that Cooky didn't understand the league at the start of the 22/23 season and predicted a (I think) 6th or 7th place finish in the playoffs. Whenever he's been a pundit on our matches up until last season he was always critical of us, hardly gave one compliment.
These were things that happened regularly with Virgo so for people to come to a conclusion that he disliked us would be quite justified.

Any praise he gave us during the season was done through gritted teeth. He says in that we demolished Gateshead, we looked the part from the off etc but he claimed Gateshead were the best footballing side in the league. On our day we could make them look like Matlock by comparison.
He is supposed to be employed as an ?expert? pundit so he would look a bigger twohat then ever, if he came-out and said anything that wasn?t positive about us, given we virtually had the thing wrapped up with 3 months to go.
What he is saying now is what everyone with a modicum of football knowledge knew many months ago.

We went about 3 or 4 seasons paying off more players than actually released at the end of their deals.
