For anyone mad enough to be travelling down for this one.

A few of us London based Spireites are meeting at the New Cross Turnpike at midday on Saturday before walking down to the ground. There is a number of other pubs en route that we’ll drop into before kick off.

Clearly no one going (including the first team squad) which, when you are 9 points ahead with 2 games in hand, is an opportunity missed to sign off from this league with a victory at Wembley in a competition we'll hopefully never be in again.
Obviously it is a chance to rest some players but also to give a game to those who haven't played much. Surely Boot, Sheckleford, Grimes, Jones, Berry and Quigley can play.
I'll be there anyway. (160th ground I've seen Town play at).

I hope we get booted out personally, main reason being we start to lose Saturday home games in the league and have to play midweek all the time, which is a slog, we get lower crowds, hospitality isn’t full, we sell less booze etc and all round they aren’t as fun.

You have made me want to do some digging on how many grounds I’ve seen town on though, I’m on 227 in total but not sure how many with Town.

Expecting approx 100 town fans at this game to watch Neil Cluxton in charge of the Academy team and dont expect any first teamers to play. The consolation for many is a new ground to tick off. Shame really as I feel we have the squad to do the double this season but understand the priority is to gain promotion.

Was still expecting maybe Grimes to go lead the team, and maybe 1 or 2 others but if Cook isn’t going it says a lot!

Welling are 23/10 tomorrow, could be a mortgage job

Wonder if it being a long distance away trip will confirm no first team members travel. I guess it would disrupt training if the majority are in over the weekend

If and it's a big if we should win and get drawn away in the next round, with us due to play Ebbsfleet (who are out) at home in on that date, would it be deemed arrogant (I'd prefer "cocking a snoot" to the NL) if we offerd to fulfil both fixtures on the same day.

G’day. Coincidentally I’m at my lads pad in Beckenham for the weekend so I might pop over. 9.4 miles apparently. I’ll bring me boots cos we don’t have a usable CF in the squad. Can’t use Berry cos Colclough is injured. Can’t chance Quigley getting injured. A false 9 seems appropriate.

You'll be in competition with a lad that can run though and seriously he's quick.

Edit PS it's your round in the " Door Hinge" (google)

I will wait till the teams are named and be quick if our side is as expected.

Can’t see why that isn’t feasible especially if we field an academy team tomorrow. Not sure it would be cocking a snoot at the NL as the Trophy has nothing to do with them unless you are proposing mixed teams

A case in point being if we get to the semi we’ll be playing that instead of Gateshead away on a Saturday, and a weekend swill in Newcastle goes down the pan.

What a travesty that would be.

My logic, if that's possible, is that the NL management would maybe perceive it as undermining the credibility of the league with their weird train of thought (and its us). Whereas some established manager going public and bragging about cheating raised no concerns whatsoever.

Guess there's not gonna be a stream for this that can be found on a dodgy stick. I've managed to find the occasional national league North and south league games before but this may be a step too far

Blimey. In that case I ought to point out that the missus says I shouldn’t go cos it’s rude on our hosts. Just setting off.
