Aaron Downes has left Torquay, who have announced Paul Wotton as their new manager.

Neil Warnock is reported to have been appointed Football Advisor.

Sets the scene for the appointment for their next caretaker manager.

Warnock continues his paid football holidays. At least Torquay is much closer to home for him than Aberdeen.

They've just been relegated from the division below the Northern Premier League, Division One Midlands. Will be in the United Counties League next season playing Heanor, AFC Scab & Belper.

Yes, Belper United rather than Belper Town.

I was about to say that Long Eaton United are another Derbyshire club at Northern Premier equivalent (level 7) but notice they've just been relegated.

Solihull have got exactly what they deserve, nowt. I have no time for them at all and it would be fitting if they were fighting off relegation next season, but I doubt it.

Better if they didn’t fight it off. Their approach is a stain on the league.

Tbh, I don't recall any abuse as such aimed at him, there was the shìt Robbie savage chant, which he himself turned and acknowledged but other that I can't say as I heard owt else ?

I'd say the chants were the usual, acceptable response to a sub on the wind-up, and he laughed at the Robbie Savage one- fair play- but there were some drunk individuals trying to get at him to hurl personal abuse. I remember marvelling at how (and why) people get so bothered about such daft things.

Presumably this was while he was a sub warming up? Never saw or heard anything from where I was sat.

Yes, it was. He was on the pitch during the invasion at the end too, and thankfully nobody took a pop. The Bromley fans that day were pretty decent.

Well, Byron Webster had his fun winding up the crowd when we beat them in the semi last year. Fair play to him really for not reacting to some of the absolute donkeys hurling abuse at him then. I like his take on the shootout v Solihull:
