Rob sadly lost his battle with cancer.
Rob was a larger than life character and I have so many happy and fond memories of him.
We were both Brampton lads and followed CFC all over since the 1960s.
Condolences to his family.
RIP Rob.
Nigel.

Very sorry to hear this Nigel,I remember Rob mainly from running the buses from the Peacock on Chatsworth Road but he'd been around for years before then.
RIP Rob, a true Spireite

Just woke up to this terrible news, he certainly was a character and a true Spireite. He used to make me laugh when too many had turned up at the Peacock on Brampton for an away game, when asked if we would get them all on the bus he’d reply (as he always did) ”arrrr” then go into the pub and fetch some stools for the extra people to sit on.
RIP Rob from “ a young ‘ un”

Hi Nige,Paul Smith has asked me to pass on his respects, like me I’m sure he would have liked to have attended Rob’s funeral but under the current situation that won’t be possible.

Rob was a character. From my early days travelling with the 'Masons' to his 'Peacock' trips in the nineties. Including THAT afternoon at Old Trafford. Always in his kilt on special occasions, too.
An increasingly rare breed as football becomes so sanitised his passing leaves us all a little poorer.

Sorry to hear this really sad news. The fact that so many will not be able to attend his funeral is a real shame. We are left remembering Rob as the larger than life lad he was and our little group in the south stand will be one more less with his passing.
Condolences to his family.

Many crematorium services are available nowadays to watch online, I'm planning to watch my Uncle's tomorrow.
I expect if appropriate details of Rob's may be provided in due course
