Capaia One from Majestic. South African red at £13.99. Outstanding for the money. If it had a picture of a Chateau on it would be £35-40.

A wine/cognac maker I once met at a vineyard in the Charante once said to me "The best wine you can buy is the cheapest one you like". I've always gone with that.

I’d go with: the best wine is one you like. Some you like more than others and some cost more than others. 👍

A few years I bought a bottle of Shiraz for a tad over £80 just to see how big the gulf was between that and a run of the mill Supermarket Shiraz for £15. Although it was nicer, the gulf wasn't so wide as to make me think it was great value.
I'm not a connoisseur to be fair so probably a bit of a heathen when it comes to wine.

i drink wine - but what I like not what is expensive or someone tells me I should like. Been fortunate enough (?) to have had some pretty expensive stuff at some pretty posh places for dinner and rarely have I come away thinking I needed to buy it. Also was given some that retailed at over £100 a bottle in the casino we owned... it was ok.
But as has been said, the best wine is the one you like. I like a nice Malbec, a nice Rioja, or anything if I havent paid for it. The best wines are the ones sent as a thank you that werent needed but are appreciated!

If the lunatics of Mansfield are happy buying dodgy looking chocolate bars from shady characters at the market they should start selling it at Field Mill on a match day in the concessions or maybe as a dessert after the Mansfield magic mushroom soup starter.
Let me in!
