Moondog I knew Roberts last week was finding property a bit dear in the area's he had looked at. A good pal of mine bumped into mr cook at southsea fair this morning (pic and comments on twitter for all to see) and mr cook told him deal for robbo was very close.
If it wasn't someone I knew I would not have given this sort of thing a second glance

I am in Whitby and Gary Roberts is stood next to me looking at boats. He's just told me that he loves Chesterfield and the only time you will find him in Portsmouth is when he's catching a ferry as its awful and smells of stale fish!

He also mentioned that cook realises he has made a massive rick signing for you, he's going to live in Southampton as its much nicer and Dave Allen told him to do one after he came begging for his job back!

Apparently he is now trying to get the gig at ramall lane just so he can stay living in the town!

It's all over Twitter...so it must be true!

I remember coming on here 2 weeks before cook came to pompey and said he had agreed to come, fair enough everyone got the hump (as I would) I am now telling you Gary Roberts at this present time is keen and close to a move south as well. No worries if you do not believe it

Don't think he'll do well that far away from Liverpool ... that seemed to be what went wrong at Swindon.

If I were you I'd be more scared of losing your new manager as he looks to get a move to Blades now- how's that loyalty for you!

If people got the hump it wasn't because people didn't think it was true (in the majority of cases).

Is that your mate then?

Cook's unlikely have lost his habit of saying more than he should to fans in a couple of weeks.

Yes west bars rys a nice lad and I spoke with him and that's what he said. If mr cook has a loose tongue he will have to learn to think a bit as a bit of a goldfish bowl down here

It was a badly kept secret (funnily enough via Cook - see the pattern emerging here) that the club were seeking to reduce Roberts' wages, perhaps via an extended contract.

Cook will of course us his knowledge of his time here to enhance his new squad if he can.

Won't be long before Cook's set up with a new entourage down there and the same things start to happen.

I thought it was Di Canio that went wrong with Roberts time in Swindon
A new hope.

If PC wants to enjoy a career, he needs to learn that his nature of being a fan with the fans has to be tempered. I was told his Openness with the fans really started to get under the hierarchies skin at CFC...constantly out on the lash, revealing club secrets was unprofessional...for a fan it was great, for the CFC management it was a nightmare. Because of this championship clubs wouldn't touch him with a barge pole!
As for Roberts, he was mulling over a 3 year deal at Pompey, but dropping down a division is a stumbling block!

It's my understanding the player is keen on the move, it's the fee (if there is one ;) ) that is the stumbling block. They seem certain Roberts and Ryan will come as a pair for some reason as well.

I can see exactly what you mean with that, we are just over the moon to have someone with some passion who didn't play for us. If he gets us up nobody will give a monkeys if he urines on the glass floor of the spinnaker tower

Personally, I would double the asking price for any player that Cook tries to sign. No way I'd make it easy for him to rebuild his success there
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.
