When is the crunch point. I want him here forever but inevitably that won?t be the case. What is the most like scenario for an exit. Some scenarios;
Offers from other clubs (most likely?)
End of current contract
Poor form of team
Lack of funds at the crunch moment

If i was the Kirk brothers I?d be looking to ensure all possible scenarios for a cookie exit are water tight not possible alas not 100 percent possible but lots can be done to keep another bald magician

Then, again, if the opportunity came to manage a big club he might decide to give it one last shot. This, though, could be tempered by his experiences in the past such as at Ipswich.
There will come a time when he might want to retire and, I would suggest, we are a club which might allow him to do that gradually. Would any other club allow him to do that?

In my time I've worked for some massive companies and earned more than decent salaries but have been less happy due to the inner politics of said establishments. He's dealing with players who want to play for him and not just pick up a wage and a seat in the stands.
Nothing's forever so let's just enjoy the ride.

I wonder if the offer of a new contract would be a crunch moment ? Surely the Kirk?s must have given this serious consideration?

I think he?d like to get us back into L1 then see what happens. There would certainly be bigger clubs interested then as well, but going back to something Phil Kirk said at the AGM, he said he thought they, the Kirks, could sustain the club in L1 but the difference financially between there and the Championship was massive and to push us on to that promised land, my words there not theirs, it would require extra investment. If that was forthcoming and Cook was given serious funding to push for the Championship that could well twist his arm!

Hmmm wouldn't that be ironic if Cook got us into a serious push for the championship only for that investment not to be there again. That must be in the back of his mind. Plenty to do.before we get into that scenario though

Together with Phil and Ashley Kirk, Paul Cook is integral to our future success and how we hold his interest in the long term is something that I have frequently pondered but it's a subject I'm not too worried about.
PC has been quite open about his time at Ipswich, losing his father and the impact that had on him. I'd like to think that him coming back here has helped to put a smile on his face and I feel he does place a value on that.
For me, it's not about what other clubs do, it's about what we do. To answer your original question, PC is a leader and he knows exactly how to deliver success and that unity is paramount to achieving that so when the board and/or fans are no longer on the same page as him, that's when the crunch moment is most likely.

I?d like to think the Kirk?s are more more ?invested? into the potential of what could be achieved than Allen and his assistant were.

Presumably, like the players, PC will have a promotion bonus, and annual increase as well as a promotion increase built in to this current contract.
That said, unless he?s on a rolling 1 year deal, we don?t know what length deal he signed but I am sure the Kirk?s will know and will already be discussing the future with him, a future that involves both him and the club together.

As much as we'd all love to fill the corners in, the cost of that and the risk against regularly filling the stadium is possibly the tipping point
Therefore we become limited to what we can afford in terms of bringing players in to be able to compete
I'd say its upper end of League One, hopefully with a daliance in the Championship?

I mean, if he got us back to L1, why wouldn't he stay on to have a crack at getting to the Championship?
An educated guess would say (with a team carrying 'promotion momentum', a settled squad and Cook in charge ready to start a L1 campaign) that the Kirks would find investors from their network to help strengthen the squad.
