Seeing as we have zero defence, under league rules, can we not sign anyone on emergency loan?
I'm sure if there is a free and experienced agent available, he can sign and play straight away.

If it's a case of use what we have (Hird is playing with injury, if he breaks down we f'ed), will we have to pair Wiseman with Reece Mitchell as centre backs???? Will O'Grady have to do it in there as he has the muscle and can get a head on a ball??

If Hird breaks down before or during Saturday, what defence are we gonna have

We can only sign free agents who were released before the last window closed. How fit do you think he can get in 2 days?

The answer to your last question is "not a lot"

We can't sign anyone on loan, no.

Anyone who is a free agent at this stage would likely be a dangerous combination of crap and unfit.

If a released player not snapped up still looking fir a club would be keeping fit and possibly training with a club. We had the chance if signing free agent Clint Hill for example

Watch out danblue. I got a few quite vituperative responses for agreeing with a suggestion we might just try O'Grady as a centre back. We certainly struggle to win when he starts up front .......

Dylan Hand, Conor Fowler, Jay Smith ........ shame the big lad Marshall's injured. You'd learn a lot about these lads' guts and heart if one of them were trotting out on Boxing Day. It's an ideal time for a debut, when your team needs you to step up and when no one will be daft enough to blame you if it proves a step too far.

If it is an emergency we created it. We built this squad, but I say we in the loosest of senses.
