Apparently they are trying to develop it so there it a real historical / archaeology content to it, trying to sneak some education in without the kids noticing, sneak something good in by disguising it with something bad. A bit like your polio inoculation on a sugar lump.

My Son loves it, but I really can't see it myself. I've had a dabble on it, mainly as he sometimes asks me to help so I could do with having some idea - but, still can't see the fascination. I am going to put it down to the fact that he is 6 and I'm 36.
That said, I prefer him getting into Minecraft rather than wanting violent games.
