This should be celebrated.
I'm puzzled by what he means by remaining celibate, though.
No kissing?
No hand holding?
No embracing?
Touching, but not including one another's todgers?
Sadly, it's still one step forwards then one step backwards for the Church.
Regardless of the PR quotes in the privacy of their own homes they'll probably indulge in a bit of buggery, and if that's their thing good for them. Good old Freddie enjoyed that exotic lifestyle and he's the man for me, although not in a biblical parlance. Let them get on with it.

He was gay and enjoyed the gay club scene, not for him the rent boy thing. But I still love the bloke.

I think I've said before I've read and own countless books etc about FM, and he was always attracted to the macho guy, like his final partner Jim Hutton, rather than the rent boy stuff. Freddie was openly gay and it's usually the closet ones who sneak about in the dark alleys
BTW Happy 70th birthday my friend....

A prog on TVs a while ago covered this, and a gay nightclub in London had a members only room that a key to be signed out. Freddie, Everret and others were prominent users. All contracted AIDS and to quote the guy on telly "all are dead"
