In view of the recent threads regarding attendances I expect most of us know that the average attendances in England far outstrip those on the continent. Germany does get decent attendances in the top league, but Spain, Italy and France (the other three main leagues) get very poor crowds even in the top divisions outside the elite clubs. When you drop down through the levels the attendances are pathetic and some English clubs in the third, fourth and even fifth tier, including us, get crowds comparable with the second tiers in France, Italy and Spain (don't know about Germany). Am I correct in thinking that all the main European leagues below the second tiers are organised regionally too?
Scotland, outside the big two, is also very poor. When you consdier that a city the size of Edinburgh and its clubs Hibs and Hearts can't even scrape attendances of 20000.
In view of this I think we sometimes forget how competitive English football is. Crowds of 10000 might seem low here, but many European teams, even in decent sized cities, would kill for such attendances.

England can soon sort that out. Absorb the NL into the EFL.
