Well I was under the impression (i'll go check now) that Rico was originally given a year. If I am wrong then that isn't a valid point as you said.

The club deserves to struck by the sword it wielded at the time then if it was a PR stunt to retain the services of Levan then it deserves to criticism it receives. The club could still have accepted the transfer bid...and should have. With only 4 months on his contract as well

That's all done and dusted now...it is good to see that many others are sticking by and still getting season tickets. Although for some reason I feel an element of guilt for not doing the same...I feel that there are far more important things in life to spend much needed cash on. I'll pay on the gate instead.

I share many of your sentiments and have not felt inclined to pay up front for a product that becomes painful to watch after half a season. Every season.
"and a pair of those Geoff Mitchell glasses, please."

Uhhmmm!!!!!!!!!

I believe Doncaster fans were saying similar things during the course of last season.

True, and they sacked the manager, brought in a new guy who was given set targets and monitored on these....while the good ship CFC continued to drift on the currents.
A new hope.

as if the rest of us are going to go "Nooo! Come back! Please!" lol

No you wouldn't and it's way beyond that in any event

I think it's less "rewarding" the club, and more saving yourself some money

Thank you for informing me as to my motivation, you should be on the stage <_< ...it IS that I refuse to enrich the club as much it revolves around cost effect

Those propaganda glasses are holding you back, you know...you should have gone to Specsavers

Renewed.

AFC Wimbledon have introduced tickets ranging from 1 to 5 seasons, and so far have sold over 1300.

Food for thought?
A new hope.

Not sure. Too many supporters at other Clubs have been ripped off by such schemes when the Bunkum hits the fan.

if you can get yourself to Boro early doors on Saturdays, i can get you to most games... though with the missus due in weeks, the rules may have changed!

Thanks Marlon I appreciate that but as with life things are not so simple. Will be working away on the rigs from July so the situation will be even worse. I've always worked shifts before and to make matters worse I do sport on a Saturday morning! The odds are against me, but one day when i'm old and grey..........a season ticket!
All the best for your new arrival.

Not renewed. 10 reasons off the top of my head...

  • The Levan thing has really irritated me and was the deciding factor in not getting a season ticket. The loss of money by turning down a transfer fee to reserve the services of an ok player until May was a diabolical decision. No hindsight was needed to see that he wouldn't stay here either. I refuse to hand over a few hundred quid to such incompetent fools.
  • Rico's services being retained without announcement a bitter pill to swallow.
  • The element of blame being passed onto the fans....fans getting frustrated by Chesterfield serving up dire performances and make silly defensive mistakes week in week out. Apparently voicing frustrations when paying money is wrong.
  • The lack of proper building in key areas of the side. Midfield still weak over a year into his managerial appointment....we have a weaker side than the one we got relegated with (Lester aside)...and we're going to be in this league for years to come.
  • The lack of width when Chesterfield play as a result of them not having any natural wide players.
  • Not replacing players who are hidiously out of form and allowing their poor form to keep on hindering a season. (Downes and Roche if I am naming names)
  • P^&%poor excuses. Ranging from the little cheating swine that is Danny North to the crosswinds, the dugouts, the fans on the kop. Also stuff like "we played some great football BUT..." stuff in post match interviews.
  • It not being an enjoyable experience anymore. The 2 factions of fans thing...I'm a Spireite not in camp A or B.
  • The managers inability to change things when it's not working. Watching Chesterfield at home to Rotherham and many other similar games when we've been totally outplayed and outclassed with no answer for a side with a competant midfield.
  • I am falling out of love for the club as a result of all of the above....posting on here I guess will become less frequent. Cheer as people might that a moaner has bitten the dust but I've not missed too many games in 20 years or so at home...and i was regular away too. Out of 8 of us who went to games together in 2006...1 is left. My dad. I can't justify watching Chesterfield Football Club anymore...I don't enjoy it...the product is awful and the excuses transparent and predictable.

Renewed again - I have Bob's (of "Bob's Board) old seat these days. Missed 8 games last season for various reasons so it was an expensive price per match - but I'll be back.
