This is what i hope, then its unlikely he would be that other scab, beause as he out-of-contract would'nt be pretty much finalised straight away?

Darlo would have offered him a lot more 'money' i'm sure of that. I see it as a good signing though like a few would like to see for myself. Good goalscoring record though.

I get the impression that a few folk are a bit cautious about this signing, unsure of his ability to play at a higher level in League One.

Ironic that we were knocked out of the FA Cup by a team from the lower level...

The difference in standard of football is not that much when you consider that two of the three teams who came up from the lower level finished way above us.

I think Roy Mac would not have signed him unless he thought he would do a job. If he can be motivated (and I am sure he can) then we will have got a good signing with this one. If he can bang them in at League Two level, there is no reason why he cant in League One.

a mate works in alfreton with loads of scabs. he asked a scab season ticket holder (yes they do have them), and he is gutted to see him go. reckons he will score at any level. also says they gonna really struggle, thanks to Carlton Palmer.

they also paid £125,000 for Larkin.
A new hope.

Sounds Encouraging... somebody said on here that he played up front for mansfield and then he was moved to left mid... anyone have a clue how many games he played on lef-mid

but of a difficult question

Whether he can do the business for us remains to be seen though Roy is obviously confident he can make the HUGE step up from the Stags. Regardless of his previous employers, he should be given our full support and I hope he makes a great success of his time with us.

So out of the two players offered contracts so far, we have a 100% success rate. I just hope the moves to bolster our GK and central midfield positions are similarly successful. If we get those areas right, I believe we can look forward to next season with genuine hopes of building on last season's improvement.

Just one thought. Is there any truth in the rumour that we're also signing Larkin's sister Marietta? Now that really would do wonders for ticket sales. :P
