And The Manager Merrigoround Starts Again

As 'Jon' says the compo - and you'd think he'd want his entire management team to accompany him - would appear an obstacle for an outfit hundreds of millions in debt. Especially as there're many managers available for nowt. Then let's get things into perspective. The Scouser's done wonders for us in terms of success, recruitment and style of play. But Bolton want promotion to the Premier League; so would they really appoint someone who's managerial CV consists of Sligo, Accrington and Chesterfield? And whilst he can pluck players to perform in the lower leagues, could he build a squad capable of achieving that? Of competing with some of the biggest clubs in the country?
Someday maybe, but whilst CFC - from the Boardroom to the stands - are prepared to allow Cook time to build something special, my guess is BWFC have far less patience.

PC is ambitious, of course, and the events of early season (budget stuff) must've left a scar.
That said he's gotta know how well thought of he is by the fans and barring a major catastrophe will secure the respectable position most will be happy with.
And y'never know, with a bit of luck.....
Bottom line is he'd be daft to leave unless a truly 'dream come true' job is offered.

I've seen a tweet stating David Rushbury is to be installed as caretaker manager, surely not our former manager ?

Edit.must add no gloating over the shop closure..anybody who tries to earn a crust, pun intended, and gets off their Harris to work deserves success

Bolton getting relegated to L1 would be manner from heaven, pushing Fulham close to being the perfect relegation, given Gartside trying to ring fence his club by instigating a Premier 1 and 2 !

He has a job on.
I was at that 4-0 defeat on Saturday that forced Atkins to fall on his sword and it was the worst performance I've witnessed, in the 7 years I've been watching the Gladiators. I'm not sure Rushbury did too well at Saltergate (ultimately speaking) and that was with very much better players. At present we have a weak defence, a worse midfield and wasteful forwards. Masses of injuries as well, but every club struggles with that. As it stands, we'll be relegated.
