It's nice of the Church to provide this much needed service.

Did you go Goku?

Sorry but I can't help but remember that scene from the film "Omen" when they try and take young Damien.

Right I always though that because I get hay fever and have a nut allergy I'd never be able to donate, looking on line that seems not to be the case. My dad has got his 50 year award and my niece and nephew not also give so I'd like to contribute. Can anyone let me know when it's next around here so I can make enquiries regarding my eligibility.

I nearly died in Dam after smoking a bit too much and haphazardly eating a burger with satay sauce on it. It's always very sobering knowing your life can be potentially ended by a chuffin peanut.

I've been very ultra cautious for the last 13 years since sneaking a bite of the wife's authentic Brownie and wanting to slice my own throat out. TBH the worst thing ever was watching my son undergo blood tests to prove he wasn't "nut allergic" due to DCC, quite rightly I suppose, demanding the same when he started school..thankfully he isn't, and takes great delight in eating all manner of nuts in front of me.

Allergies not a problem. Wont take blood though if you are suffering at the time of the donation. Been donating since i was 18. 114 donations so far. I will keep going until they tell me to stop

I'm a bit gutted as I've just been discharged from the hospital so thought I'd check how long I had to leave it before I could donate again. Looked up about surgery then checked the other issues I have and found that I can't donate for 5 years after recovering from a sarcoidosis flare up, which means I'm not allowed to for at least another 4 years as long as I don't have another flare up 😢

Can I just say a massive thank you everyone who makes the effort to donate blood.

On Thursday afternoon a close family member took seriously ill and has so far received over 8 pints of blood, and given the proximity some could have well been donated by someone from the thread.
