Mark Randall has signed for Larne in Northern Ireland

I used to have a neighbour from Larne. He was a good bloke but if the crowd up there are anything like him, Randall won't last five minutes.
These go to eleven.

One can only assume he's going to live in Belfast.

Playing in the Champions League for Arsenal must seem like a whole different career ago now!!

The Antrim coast is quite spectacular, though- I'd be happy to live in the glens there.

I wonder. At what point will it click that as a young lad playing in the champions league, he had the world at his feet. And he threw it all away just because he couldn't be bothered.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Well, that and not having the required level of ability to play in the Champions League, yes.
These go to eleven.

I was mostly kidding. My family is entirely from Antrim. Not far to drive for some of the best views in the world.

He's spent years as a professional footballer.
Made a good living doing what most boys dream of.
Wha the negativity towards him

Very true mate, you don’t have to play for Real Madrid to be “happy “. He will go through life never doing a days work as we know it and no doubt be very happy

Obviously he did or he wouldn't have made it into the champions League in the first place.

Wha the negativity towards him

It's not negativity towards him, it's pointing out the facts.
He's dropped level after level, after making it into an Arsene Wenger squad (who incidentally described him as "too good not to make it") on arguably the highest club football stage in the world, dropping down to a level of football that is on a par with the northern premier League and why? Is it because he works so hard at his game but just doesn't possess the necessary skillset to stay at these clubs or is it his lack of effort that has made him drop down through the leagues?
Since 2006 when he started to break into the Arsenal first team he has played for 12 different clubs. Almost one club per season. From the Champions league down to National league south in 12 seasons.
It's not negativity, it's facts.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

You must think it's a doddle to progress through the system at Arsenal. It's extreme hard work and commitment. His problem was that, despite people having a lot of patience with him, he never overcame the weakness of losing possession too easily no matter which level he played at.
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

....who kept getting hammered and knocking on my door in the middle of the night, but we were students and I was usually hammered too so it was fine.

My rhymes need some work.

He's still regarded as one of the finest talents to have played at Arsenal's Academy

Was that before they allowed tackling and heading?

I understand Randall had a family death whilst at Arsenal. I understand this not to be a reason for "not looking bothered" but it may be a reason for a drop off in performances and one of the reasons for where he is today.

He will always be a talented footballer and I wish he had made more of his time here because Sheridan really liked him.
