Agreed. But Roberts will probably be in 'cos footballers generally aren't very bright & they'll all have heard of Robbo. Not that he's not had a good season, he has to a point but shouldn't be anywhere near the PFA team for me.

His assists and goals record would make him a shoo-in, surely?

If Tommy isn't in then I call vote rigging.

Some very good keepers in the league this season. Slocombe, Bentley (future England keeper IMO), Pope for York etc (although he's only been there for half a season). I'll be surprised if Tommy gets in the team (despite obviously thinking he's the best).

if he is it'll be on past reputation rather than this season's performance. He has had a poor season by his standards, still an excellent shot stopper but his positioning and lack of dominance when defending set plays has cost us at times. I think he isn't the player he was when Mark Crossley was coaching him.

A lot of the voting will be on reputation, particularly as the votes are taken relatively early when the voters won't have had much chance to see the players. I also seem to remember that players from all divisions vote - so players like Humphreys and Darikwa will have a good chance because they have had a lot of press coverage compared to the other players in their positions. As we had been top for months when the votes were cast higher division pros will have looked at our team sheet first when looking to see who to vote for. Don't be surprised to see record numbers of Spireites in the team - why else would Phil have started the thread ;)

Darikwa

wouldn't be my choice but how many prem/champ players could name a single player from our division? He got a lot of national press coverage and has a memorable name - could well be a surprise winner

I think Lee, Ryan, Morsy, Roberts and Banks could be in there but doubt we'd get 5 players in so if it was voted for around Christmas I'd go Lee and Roberts.

well, in my personal opinion Jimmy Ryan is one of the best signings ever made by CFC in the history of the known universe. For us to dominate the midfield in the absence of Morsy says it all about where the real influence is.

Well done to all 4. Amazed Jimmy didn't make it.
