Presumably its because they didnt make the playoffs. They chucked a fair bit of cash at it and some talk that it was a bit this season or bust in terms of FFP.

I doubt they were in the top 10 budget wise but might be wrong!

They signed the likes of Fábio Carvalho on loan from Liverpool when he had been on loan in the top division in Germany, few other loans from Prem clubs plus spent £6m on Philogene plus a couple of other larger fees on players. In terms of FFP its relative to their own income etc and overall compared to some in the Championship it could be well down the list overall due to clubs on parachute payments etc.

It was twitter talk but you they wouldnt be the first club to have cut cloth after chucking money at going up and failing. That said i suspect what i think is a rather colourful foreign owner has thrown his toys out of the pram at them having been in the playoffs and dropping out to miss out completely. Whilst its a nonsense decision apparently they have only won twice at home and 8 overall since New Years Day hence them falling out of the playoffs.

Mind-blowing.... he's done a brilliant job; especially, considering where they were last season.

Talking of doing a brilliant job - Donny Rovers. From relegation contenders to virtually playoff finalists. Astonishing turn around.

Thought that guy at hull was a decent manager, knows that level and im sure he will be fixed up soon and if it all goes down the pan at Hull with some random guy from a german b team then serves them right.

Bit of news from elsewhere in the Championship... Hull City are set to name former Hamburg coach Tim Walter as the successor to Liam Rosenior after axing him earlier this week, Sky Deutschland reports.

Appears to be some talk that Dean Brennan is going to dump Barnet to take the Swindon managers job.

He deserves it. He's done well with Barnet and thoroughly deserves his chance in the EFL.

Maybe so but not sure the Swindon job is good for anyone at the moment.

I know a Swindon ST holder and he reckons the club is in dire straits top to bottom.

It appears their is a genuine fear amongst the fans that they are going to be the next ‘big’ club to fall out of the EFL and from there it would be anyone’s guess what happens.

As an aside, Cook must be one of the longest serving managers in the football league (yeah, gotta say it)...

He’s about 10th longest serving EFL manager.
Ian Evatt is third.

They've actually messed up there. They've got Cloughy behind Evo but NC was appointed in March 20 when Evo was appointed in July 20.

Statement from Barnet today confirming Swindon’s approach but saying Brennan is committed to Barnet and plans already underway for next season push to the EFL.

Announced at Swindon early next week then?
