I see the yellow stain are saying that the NL was weak this year and that Shirebrook could have got out of it. Well with Salford, Barrow, Harrogate Sutton etc League 2 is not as strong now compared to when they went up a which is why they are top and proof also that the gap between League 2 and NL has lessened considerably when you see Stockport and Wrexham in top 3. We have nothing to fear and extra incentive for the stain to go up is that we’d be coming for them.

You have to laugh at the scabs. when they won National league most teams was part time unlike now were I think 22 clubs are full time.

Of course we could ask how much weaker L2 is now compared to all the times we've won it...

They don’t see it like that tho, I’ve never seen a more deluded fan base. There was a poster on their forum (I made the mistake of having a sneaky look after Saturday) that claimed our attendance on Saturday was some sort of glory hunting day , didn’t seem to know we’ve averaged over 7 thousand all season. They’ve had a decent season attendance wise so can’t knock them but their attendances over the last 15 years- 20 years are no where near our level. I’d like to see a comparison. We’ve had a couple of poor averages in that time but nothing compared to them.

The ground is owned by Tesco

The council is funding the running of the club day to day.

This years national league is the weakest in history.

The reality is Tesco don’t own the ground, the council took a mortgage and then passed that onto the trust at a higher rate to buy the club. Nothing to do with tax payers funding the running of the club.

The league is weaker - they tried to claim that them finishing above wrexham rather than us finishing below wrexham as some sort of comparison. Fans owned rather than Hollywood owned?

National league budgets - they spent a huge amount under Cox and had players like Matt Rhead - and he ultimate hoof ball rather than cookball- and it’s documented we’re not the highest spenders but over the roundabout we’ve bought the league.

Crowds pushing 8000 for us - for them less than 3000

I almost feel sorry for them in their desperation
A new hope.

We'll probably be 'ships in the night' come the end of next season and won't play them for a long time, unless we draw them in a cup competition.

They are largely irrelevant though. Punching above their weight this season and still getting crowds below us at our lowest ebb. The town is run down, the ground is run down, the owners are run down and natural order will resume

Not sure they are punching above their weight, they’re on a parallel level with other teams in that league this year, such as Harrogate, Salford, Barrow, Forest Green, Sutton. They are simply the best of a bad bunch. I thought Bradford would do better but crowds don’t get wins.

Too deluded to actually recognise that! That league was probably the weakest it’s ever been when they were in it, like as you said, 90% were part time.
Now there’s big ex league clubs in the national league & 95% are full time….
So my little yellows weirdos, when was it harder to get out of non-league!!??

It always makes me smile, when you get Scabfield fans, who are more interested in our club than their own. Now, I know it must be boring, watching their team from a U shaped ground, instead of the more conventional rectangular version we have, and planning a pub crawl in Scabfield must be a mare. Do they visit the Tesco Extras or stick to the local Boots for their favourite tipple of meths and Blue Stratos.
It could be that, they're all Spireite wannabes and want to watch Cookball instead of the Junior school Benny Hill style chase about they're used to. Whatever it is, stay your side of the M1 in the land of lousy football in a town of desolation.

Some brilliant posts on here everyone, and some great home truths for them to feast on about who really is the superior club. About time we stuck it back to the scab bas*ards and the bollo**s they continually spout about us on scabsnet.

Amusingly this thread has been viewed by one of them and brought to the attention of his/her fellow scabs on their obsessive thread. 🤣

Keeping an eye on their remaining games. MK, Crewe and Barrow all still mathematically in with a shout of top 3, and scabs are yet to go to both MK and Barrow yet, and they’re away at Wrexham this Saturday.

It ain’t over til it’s over!

Aware there’s a risk of reopening wounds for Johnd51, but wonder what kind of team Cook will pick for such games?

Not quite....there are rules about what side you need to play so you cant just play the whole youth team.

Four of the 10 outfield players have to meet one of the following qualification rules as per the rules here --> https://www.efl.com/...heading-players
