Think its pretty clear from this thread to date that a lot of folk had made their up long before any performances etc in this tournament. They are well down the lane of if we win its in spite of him and if we lose its his fault. While i've questioned a few things he's done so far in this tournament i do think as well he has been let down by some players who are playing well below what they are capable of.

I?d made my mind up on Dean Saunders before he managed his first game for us. Doesn?t necessarily make people wrong for having that view. Previously I thought people had been too harsh on Southgate, now the scales have fallen from my eyes. Tactically he is a League 1 manager, he has a wealth of world-class attacking option at his disposal and is making them look turgid and uncreative. What is our actual game plan? Why are our central midfielders sat on our centre halves? toes? Why is Trent in CM when we have little pace up front to hit with his typically excellent balls over the top? In fact, why is Trent in midfield at all? We are experimenting in central midfield two games deep into a tournament. We brought an injured left back and stuck a right back at left back who has no intention of overlapping with Foden in front of him who wants to be in the middle of the pitch. These things cant solely be attributed to poor player performance, these are basic tactical failings. Southgate and his staff have an almost endless amount of time to think about how we are going to line up, how we are going to play, how the opposition are likely going to line up etc and this has resulted in the two performances we?ve seen thus far which have been dire.

Sounds like Gallagher in for TAA tomorrow which just highlights how basic Southgate is. We have been dreadful with the ball so far so he brings in a runner rather than someone who can help us keep the ball.

Such a dreary decision on paper. I think we?ll comfortably beat Slovenia as they play 4-4-2 and part of our problem against the Serbs and the Danes is that they always had a +1 on us at the back cos they played with 3 CB?s. We?ll see - we need a convincing win.

I used to detest playing in this competition prior to dropping into the National League, but now I?m quite looking forward to us taking part in it 👍

That?ll last about 20 minutes into first match

Yep, really tricky one to decide on.

This is why CPS is a good fisherman, he can make it sound like he believes the things he's writing.
