With temperatures forecasted to drop severely again later this week, do you think the concourses in all the stands should be heated throughout the night, to prevent a repeat of what happened to the North stand?

I looked up how much heat the human body produces, when sleeping we produce about 80W, awake and sitting is about 116W and sprinting we produce about 1.6KW.

So if we get 100 people running up and down each concourse at night that should generate around 160KW, which should be enough to keep them ice free.

Here’s a thought, if we could harness the hot air generated on this message board, we could probably supply the UK with free power all year!

Time to put my cunning plan into effect I think! OK all volunteers to lie down on the pitch overnight and give their 80W straight onto the grass, report to Chester at midnight! I shall unfortunately be unable to attend due to a previous appointment, but my thoughts are with you.

Does anyone know if any action was taken during the summer, so a repeat of the burst pipes does not occur this winter?

With some seriously cold weather over the last week, have we sorted the problems we had with burst pipes last winter, or was it even colder last year?

We now have a policy of shutting off the water and draining the pipes between matches when the temperatures drop.

What a clever way of dealing with the problem, how long does it take, and has there ever been any trouble when you’ve turned the water back on?
