Good work.
What's needed now, just to round things off nicely, is an update on how the relationship between Carson and Allen has faired in the last 12 months.

Has anybody heard owt?
Get it on, bang the gong , get it on

Which `current top dog'? There are no beans - it's a can of worms, which is perhaps the reason? This is a new beginning, and the club & its associates are fully focussed on the present & the future and will be determined to leave the past where it belongs, and rightly so.

No that’s rubbish.
We all invested time and money into the club which was plummeted into non-league humiliation.
You don’t think questions need to be answered?

Sometimes sleeping dogs need to be let lie.
Let’s concentrate our efforts on the future of the club rather than taking out skeletons that aren’t going to help us in any way, shape or form.
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

I think you’re right and people still at the club now may well have answers and maybe should look at themselves in the mirror, BUT, the time is right to move on from the past and as much as it pains to say it..to let bygones be bygones.. maybe that is we’re we are at now.

If someone emptied your bank account or scratched your motor you’d demand to know what happened no?

It’s typical football to watch a club get shafted, get lied to etc then think ah well next season will be a good one…..

I (for one - seemingly the only one) want to know why they were allowed to fck up the club good and proper for years.

Completely different scenario.
I’m sure your not the only one who wants to know but we are now in a position where we can look forward so why look back?

377k sounds like a huge fine to me - could Isleaiw1 confirm if that sort of figure is standard for the industry?

And I know we should all be grown-ups about this, and shouldn't laugh, but BWOUGHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

It’s big but the GC and others are coming down hard on firms in a number of key areas they are keen to rid the industry of - AML, failure to protect vulnerable players etc. I think Betway got done for about 11m last year, Boylesports have been done this year too for a couple of mil but it’s all relative..and they are bigger global firms

I’m suprised this hasn’t made the news, tends to happen now with the Gambling Act review this year that the media have the knives out so any opportunity to have a pop they tend to take.

I do enjoy this thread cropping up nowadays as generally it means that lot have come another cropper.

It's easy to laugh now those associated with such stuff are ex CFC.

But the laughter turns to frowns when we remember folk who sat smugly alongside 'em are still larging it up down Sheff Road. Still strutting around as if nowt's really changed. Then there're those that at best dismissed the reports peppering this thread as 'rumour and hearsay' and at worst sought to excuse them. To defend them. That sneered and jeered and smeared those narrating them whilst portraying the characters responsible as well meaning innocents.

Nah, I'll never forget and never ever forgive those who dragged Town into the sewer. No will I forget or forgive those who sided with them against the fans...

If we can throw some people under the bus with little effort we should. Bygones mat be bygones but if some people got their just deserts what a lift for the long suffering fan base.

Because it might do more harm than good if he did.

We’ve got what we wanted, Allen and Carson have gone. Allen lost £15,000,000 or the best part of that.

It ended up costing the trust peanuts to take control.

We are now in a much better place.

Best we move on from that.
A new hope.

I agree. Nobody is saying that we should forget what happened and absolutely nobody would ever say forgive but what good for the club would come out of raking up the past? And let’s not be so naive to think that if there was any kind of evidence against any possible impropprieties that may have occurred was swept under the carpet that COULD be raked up, wouldn’t it have been brought to the fore by now?
We’re just wanting retribution (and I understand it) because we as supporters are still angry at the previous regime for personal reasons, because they wronged our club.
Just ask yourselves this question.
Would you rather The Trust dedicate time towards investigating any possible wrong doings or just concentrate their efforts on getting the club back on its feet and back into the football league?
Life goes on. Whatever happens.

Wasn't the 'debt' transferred to the Trust at the point of the takeover so presumably, this gives DA or AS leisure some kind of hold (albeit a limp-wristed one) around the Trusts neck?

Surely the Trust wouldn't risk any come back on that for a bit of public point scoring?

Us fans however...…...fill yer boots!

The debt wasn't transfered, it was satisfied in full. We owe Allen nothing. The only debt we have is the loans to the councils and the loan from Sport England.

Incorrect.

The debt was transferred in favour of the Trust.
