Said I'd apologise if she was cleared - so here goes... Apologies Angela for doubting you.

Of course, had you come out and explained which of the two possible options it was early on then we wouldnt have been through this farce. And of course you still havent said whether you somehow found a way to make the CGT payable zero (in which case technically CGT was due but the amount was zero) or you were already separated from Mr Raynor as the only way a married couple can have two PPRs is if the marriage has broken down and steps being taken to separate permanently

The former is of course easiest... its just an entry on a spreadsheet...

That you accuse people of turning everything to be about labour. Then turn continuously everything to be about the Tories. Like The Labour Party continues to do.

So Labour cant have policies because the country is broke? Odd one. Now is the time for bold not bland.

I?ll agree with you on the thread. Something I?ll admit I?m guilty of. I just hope everyone can do the same.

Stayed away because it was dull and becoming more so. Enjoy the week.

I'm with you on the bold not bland, and come on EoC, every time a Tory Minister has a sh1t, its disected (not literally) on here and fault found. Even Sunak doing what you wanted and calling an election was criticised as the weather intervened....
  3. In Topic: What Are You Listening To At The Moment?

    Regatta de Blanc last night.
Divide, The Who's Greatest Hits, Eagles greatest hits and dire straits at the weekend.

I've stopped paying the extortionate fees for concerts unless it goes to charity - the amount some artists make from it is obscene.

The irony was EoC always toe curlingly turns to the Tories.

Absolutely but that was more about that?s the only policy I can recollect so far?ie won?t raise taxes.

40 new hospitals, 6500 new teachers, 13000 new PCSOs but we wont raise taxes despite knowing we are in the sh1t financially, and we will raise it from avoiding dodgy contracts, stopping tax dodging etc

Just been reading how Germany, Japan and China all face the problem of stagnation and worse caused by the boomers retiring, the cost of paying for that, the lack of workforce and consumers as the birth rate falls....

The financial mess will be much worse than potholes and RAAC in schools!

I tend to agree with you on this. However when a government in waiting (or so they might believe) talks of conscription it's hard not to cast minds back to 11 plus and universities for the select small minority. As I say, I tend to agree with you but wouldn't trust the current shower to bring any compassion or economic credibility to the HE table.

As someone who did the 11+ to go to Shirebrook Comp, and then on to uni when you got grants to go (but the courses were generally worthwhile), I can see some good in the old days...

The current shower could mean any of the options we have to vote for!

    Hi,
Sorry to bother you. I believe you worked for a hotel chain in London and previously had access to discount codes.
It’s a bit of a long shot and very last minute. But could you let me know if this is still the case.
I only ask as my part is due to go to London on Friday and the hotel she was booked into has canceled last minute.
    Thanks
    Andy ...

Hi. I'm a season ticket holder who unfortunately will be travelling to Gran Canaria on 8th of Jan.
Happy to get you a ticket for Chelsea if you're struggling. Regards Nigel.

Thanks for the invite - would have loved to have joined you but I am moving house tomorrow so day not in the office or in London!
Might have joined as the political conversations might have been more up my street than most on the board!

If you live in London, you're welcome to join a couple of Spireites tomorrow (Monday) evening where the main topic of conversation will be Chesterfield FC amongst other things. All very friendly. We'll be in the Williamson Tavern near St Pauls about 7.30. Sorry for the short notice.
    regards
    John
