European Super League

I’ll treat the European Super League with the same reverence I’ll treat crickets 100 - none whatsoever.
This expanded Chumps League sounds like a nightmare anyway. Much easier to completely blank the ESL or whatever they’ll call it

Why not? The PL are big fans of "B" teams in other clubs' competitions.

I reckon ‘B’ teams would be a natural progression along with ESL L2 as a carrot with very limited promotion/relegation.
I know that goes against the whole purpose of the Super League but I don’t think it is viable in the long term to have a stand-alone league.
It’ll morph just as everything else does and probably not for the best

Look at every major sport over the pond and see how it's run. Football leagues will soon be known as "Majors and Minors" without any chance of promotion into them.
Not sure it has much to do with Americans, it has more to do with rich owners generally.
Rugby Union owners are trying it on as are the richer Cricket Clubs with Test Grounds and they’ve spent the last decade trying to rig the system and failed - hence the 100

Eufa aren’t happy - mind you their new Europa Conference Cup for clubs who finish 7th is totally embarrassing
The most embarrassing thing about the completion is that the failures from the Chumps League get free entry into the later stages.
Talk about rewarding failure! Nothing to do with completion, all to dovv by with greed

I haven’t given Sky or BT a penny in years and simply don’t watch European football. I used to watch MOTD religiously but VAR has even ruined the highlights, never mind the live games.
The golden goose is starting to pour foie gras down its own neck.

Where are the French and Germans, not much of a super league without them. Feels like a botched coup to me but let’s hope not.
Just watching American Wrestlenania - it has more authenticity than the ESL

Sky are well aware of the lack of mass appeal of the Champions League hence not really competing with BT for the rights at the last round of negotiations and given the 12 team format being touted I doubt it holds any real British wide appeal, hence I don’t think Sky would be interested.
