Agree. He might be inconsistent and at his age isn’t going to improve but can create magic moments as he did in this game. Even if he doesn’t figure regularly he would be a more than useful squad player.

How many of the teams with the highlights uploaded have a Post Match Party and also an open top bus parade and Civic reception to cover.

I should think Gateshead would have had a lot on.
Our highlights were uploaded at 8.00 am. I doubt the media team were up at 6.00 am this morning editing the game. 8.00 am smacks of a timed delay to comply with some unenforced time limit. Wonder when they were completed?
No delay next season if this season is anything to go by.

Perhaps they knocked them up late last night after they covered the reception live and presumably they be producing some package for that.
Are these the snippets you are referring to, I assumed they were produced by Sky. The extended highlights seem to be produced by the club and will presumably be made available in their own time. This season it looks like some clubs charge for them via iFollow, would you want that? Next season who knows what will happen under the new Sky deal.

Total Goal Contributions (combined goals & assists including cup):
Grigg: 29
Mandeville: 25
Dobra: 20
Naylor: 18
Banks: 15
Jacobs: 15
Quigley: 14
Colclough: 11
Berry: 10
Taken from another thread, Jacobs is pleasing on the eye but I didn't expect him to have as many contributions

Probably just adding up the figures Goku has put on here that he has done from the highlights videos. For what its worth i think Jacobs has been very instrumental at times this season with a lot of his good play going unnoticed by many.

Lots of vocal people around me only notices Jacobs when fluffs his lines. Reminds me of Danny Whitaker in some ways.

For what it’s worth (not much), my hunch is that Jacob’s will be a more influential player at the higher level than he was this year. That said, I’d love Banks to be in the squad next year too but we probably have to accept that we can’t keep everybody and add the type of quality that we all want so he may be the sacrificial lamb here

The general consensus on here seems to be that he’s been offered a one year deal but is holding out for a 2 yr extension with Donny sniffing around if we don’t agree terms!

Its a bit like the old Allott\Niven thing years ago where Niven got all the plaudits from a lot of people due to his all action, shall we say, style of play compared to Allotts more composed, calm play. Many times this season you could see Jacobs was well above this level and i expect that to be the same again next season. Not sure it should be a surprise at all that he is up there on goals and assists this season.

Id love to know how the theory about playing better in a higher league works, although i will accept jacobs did not have a pre season, for me he isnt a 90 minute player and i feel he probably needs to up his goal tally

I thought Saturday was typical. Had a great first half but seemed to disappear for long stretches after that. He seemed to revel in the extra space he got out on the left, first half.
On the subject of Banks, it would be pushing our (and his) luck to give him a two-year deal. Offer a one-year and teach some of the others to shoot.

Unfortunately, from January onwards he ended up playing on the left quite a lot, which is definitely not his best position at all
His contribution in the build up to that great team goal at Home to Gateshead was typical of the type of stuff he can do when in the middle, but in essence we have 3 players vying for that one position, with Dobra seemingly the preferred player. Jacobs adding a different type there, and Banks different to both
But we can't keep all 3
