I'm glad you posted this cos I was about to ask what everyone's issue with Grimsby is/was? Must've missed summat in my younger days cos they've been non-league for years. I also thought that Grimsby was a CFC retirement home of sorts?

Have a look on You Tube Zy, I think they came on the Kop in our last game at home with them, and most of the offenders already had banning orders.

Similarly Lincoln, you have every chance of being bricked or indiscriminately thumped (not humped Andrew) any time before or after the match by some deranged 50 year old pikey.

There used to be a bridge not far from sincil bank with the messages 'Lincoln kick to kill' and 'Lincoln use golf balls' spray painted on it, charming!

If its based on the clubs' fans I seriously need to throw in Stoke City ....Animals

Good point, to be fair if it's based on fans alone then there is probably an argument against anybody.
My only real gripe with Chelsea is the group of 'Yorkshire Blues', mouthy arrogant ass holes.

Sorry mate forgot about them, one of the worst places for football I have ever been. Shame because its a nice City.

On a brighter note its the first time we have been invited "to dance" with a large group of "boys"!!!

In addition to Mansfield, Cardiff, Brighton any club who's fans bleat on about how they were once massive.

At the minute there's a forest fan at work who's constant reply to anything is "but we've won 2 european cups"

Not sure where you got that from...... think you will find Vale fans have no interest in us whatsoever and class us as a small club with very poor away support!!
[/quote]

They're an equally small club who just happen to bring more here as a) it's a decent away day & b) in recent years at least they've tended to be big games for them.

That was quite funny. At least one of them ended up with their jaw swinging loose.

Come on matey you did ultimately deserve to be set upon by a large group of Lincoln knuckle draggers, you insulted them by having pie and chips in the wrong pub, shameful way to incite violence. :)
Dancers are considered mad by those who cant hear music.

Remember this one well as i was stood not that far away when it happened plus remember the one when they all came from the away end invading the pitch and tried to get on the Kop....think that was way back in 1990 mind you looking at head to head results.

Last home game of 1989-1990, when we won 2-0 to grab seventh place and a playoff spot, if memory serves. First time I ever left a game early- to avoid the trouble that inevitably followed. That match was stopped for a while as the tannoy announcer (or possibly Alan Buckley- can't remember) pleaded with Grimsby fans to climb down from the floodlights.
These go to eleven.

Remember it being 2-0 and i think John Ryan got both goals or at least one of them. I was on the girder bits at the back of the Kop where some kids used to climb back then for a better view but handily for this match i was very close to the Kop exit to get out of the way!

I'd imagine that the imps and mariners time in non league has somewhat soothed the more aggressive elements they used to have in their fan base.

Late 80'searly 90's used to be a mare when playing those 2 sides
A new hope.

Buxton not on your list?

I would like to hear about non league clubs and their fans that matlock have dislike for. I imagine there are some interesting stories. Any run ins with "The Frickley skins?" :D

I'm not that fond of Buxton no (and they are our main rivals, although Alfreton would feature there, albeit not recently). We never seem to do very well against them either.

As regards other teams we've seen down the Lane, then... Nantwich Town and yes Frickley, but also Sutton Coldfield. Ilkeston as well come to think of it, after we lost the Derbyshire Cup Final to them (at the Proact) a couple of years back.

Not heard of the group you refer to BTW.
