Absolutely horrendous. Live 5 minutes walk from the MEN for almost 4 years and can't believe something like this has happened again in such a great city. What I can't believe even more is how someone can't target a concert attending by children with a bomb? Absolutely sickening, what is wrong with people in this world?

Something needs to change, this shouldn't part of life in 21st century Europe and shouldn't be accepted and responses like Pray For Manchester given. Their is a chance this guy, like many others before him, will have been on some kind of watch list and be known to police. This simply isn't enough anymore, if these people are willing to kill innocent children with no prejudices or hate then this will never end by simply monitoring these people. This isn't any sort of xenophobic rant I'm just fed up of hearing of these attacks and the same stories coming out from the media..

I had friends there last night who have by accounts seen things they will never forget and so many lives are changed forever.

RIP.

A sickening and deplorable act of evil. More money and resource needs to be made available for counter terrorism to identify and infiltrate these sick ba****ds. Events like last night should never be allowed to happen.

I shed a tear this morning when I turned the news on to his latest atrocity, being a parent like many of us are losing a child at such a happy occasion is beyond my comprehension. The world seems rotten to the core, what society is my child and my children's, children going to live in.

My heart goes out to those families who have lost loved ones. As a parent there can be nothing worse than losing a child in this way. According to the Express there are over 3,500 potential terrorists in our country including an estimated 400 returning ISIS jihadists. There is a COBRA meeting this morning. I would ask how have they been allowed to return so easily?

Something urgently needs to be done. All those who are being monitored should be arrested, interred and thoroughly investigated. How many more prayers and candles and standing together must we endure while this mayhem is allowed to continue.

Sorry, but I can't bear to watch these poor grieving mothers in tears appealing for someone to tell them their children are ok. It's just too painful.

An utterly abhorrent, cowardly act. Genuinely emotional reading about it first thing this morning while listening to the kids playing in their rooms before getting them up.

My mum was only at the Arena last Thursday. Very scary.

I just can't take it in, to deliberately Target a concert where the attendees would be mostly young girls and teenagers, what kind of sick mind does it take to do this. I took my 6 year old to Sheffield Arena in January and remembering the look of joy on his face and all the other kids it breaks my heart at what some people are now going through.

I honestly don't see why you wouldn't act on people on these watch lists. It's like playing Russian roulette with peoples lives. If only 1 in 1000 on this watch list is capable of these kind of attacks (which attacks everywhere have proven as all have been known to security services) then that is justification enough to send them back to the 3rd world ****hole they have crawled out of

My thoughts exactly. After the initial shock my thoughts went to my son who is going to grow up in a shitheap of a world like this.

'Human rights' and fear of being branded 'racist' is why the security services can't act. Sadly all politicians lack the will needed to combat the threat - well if these scum are willing to murder innocent people then those rights should be forfeit - immediate deportation for any and all suspects and for those that are 'British' (I use the word loosely) life imprisonment or why not just save the prison space and hang them with the likes of the Rotherham abusers

According to the security services, an arrest is made every day in connection to terrorism. Gives an insight to how a big a problem this is to resolve.

but this is why they're being monitored isnt it? you don't know if they actually are willing to murder innocent ppl. you can't lock somebody up before they commit a crime unless you have empirical evidence that they're planning to cause harm which is presumably why they're on a suspect list and not in prison already...?

providing an overly simple one size fits all solution to a multifaceted problem will not help owt

Sorry, are you suggesting that all terrorism is Islamic? Also what do you mean by 'we', white people, people from majority Christian nations, Westerners?

I hadn't heard of the performer but as soon as I saw the footage last night and all the pink balloons you knew it was a concert for families and younger people rather than a rock concert and you knew the outcome was going to be horrendous. I've just seen the photo of the first named victim, Georgina Callander, a smiling young girl who this time yesterday would have been so excited for the show, probably going with family or friends, then just over 12 hours later shes blown to pieces by a creature who deserves to rot for ever where ever his filthy carcas drops, and you can't help but get emotional, like the OP says it's a new low!

Another victim is an 8 year old little girl. Saffie Rose Roussos. 8 years old.
