Disagree everyone at work has big respect when I wear my town shirt at work, once they’ve realised that -1) chesterfield is a place- 2) it has a football team -!3) the level were at -4) I only support town you get a lot of hats off mate for supporting your local club and a lot of talk about local football rather than the usual “did you see match if the day” stuff
A new hope.

I'm guessing you don't work as a Funeral Director or a vicar.
These go to eleven.

I was in Majorca years ago, watched a town match live (versus West Ham the first time) in the league cup in a bar full of West Ham fans, surreal experience watching town abroad on telly, I made more noise than all of em, it didn’t make up for missing the game but it was the next best thing.
Let me in!

I once got the sack for laughing at work...
I was driving the hearse at the time!

I'll get my coat shall I?

Like a few others on here I was born at Scarsdale.
We lived in villages near Alfreton until I left aged 21 to join the military.
My dad was never a fan of football as demonstrated by supporting Man Utd.
My uncle was mates with (and played cricket with) Chris Marples and took me to my first game at Saltergate where we beat Halifax 3-0. I think the scorers were Newton, Moss and Kendall.

And you don’t think 1.2.3 and 4 is both ignorant AND patronising?

So I was born in Northampton, moved to Worthing, West Sussex when I was 4 then onto Lancing, West Sussex (a bit closer to Brighton than Worthing) at 7.
The 1st professional football match I went to was Brighton with my boyfriend when I was 15 and went to the last game at the Goldstone. I also stewarded 3 games at the Withdrawn before I moved to Bolsover.
I met my husband through work, he worked at head office in Chesterfield and I worked in Brighton.
Met my husband in May, got engaged in June, moved up in August, bought our house in November, got married December and then found out we were pregnant January 2000.
So life then took over and football became a distant thought, until my eldest was in school and brought home a schools offer from Chesterfield (v Dagenham & Redbridge 10/2007 1-1), so my husband took our eldest son, but our youngest wasn't quite 2 so I stayed at home with him. He and my husband went to a few odd matches, like Droyslden etc. He then brought home another letter in 2010 which we all went to so was my 1st match along with our youngest's, which was also Dagenham & Redbridge (4/2010 2-2). Eldest and husband went to last match at Saltergate after I queued up for tickets for them. My mother in Law then bought my husband and both sons season tickets for the new ground. She also got my son the mascot package for his birthday and he was the 1st paying mascot at the new ground v Derby. The 1st league match I went to I'm fairly sure I got the ticket from Goku 😁
I signed the kids up to the Young Spireites and at the Christmas party they got quite a few posters of the players, so I tweeted Tommy Lee and asked if he would be able to arrange the players to sign them for me. He agreed and phoned me about 2 hours later to tell me they were ready. That's the point I fell in love with the club, because the players took the time to do that, so quickly and they personalised them too. I went to as many games the rest of that season that we could afford, which obviously included Gillingham for the L2 celebrations.

If you got the tickets from goku, was you in the east stand top row/2nd to top? I was in there with the b2net lads for a few games that season (including that game)
Here we go again!

As the name would suggest I live in the north east and have all my life. My grandmother was from Chesterfield. Her son (my dad, AKA geordieblue) grew up there some of his childhood. Obviously town rubbed off on my dad, and I followed in his footsteps. I could have easily chosen Newcastle and have been watching Champions League football this season, but where would the fun be in that?

I really only used the ticket to get in and went and sat with my family, I would have gone and sat there if I'd been told to 😉
