Archie White, Alex Duhameau and Sam Hooper will be with the Gladiators in the coming season but will not be available to wear Matlock colours on Tuesday with Chesterfield wanting them to remain with them for the initial part of pre season.

So we might see them playing for us. That would be a bonus 'cos we can have a chinwag about their potential. Looking forward to it. What a tonic it will be if Danny Rowe scores another rocket - the hardest shot I think I've ever seen!.

Don’t think I’ve ever looked forward to a pre-season friendly more. I remember going to pre-season at Matlock with Denton and Tyson as our main strikers. What a difference a few years makes.

I’ve not even watched a single match since the POF. I’ve always got withdrawal symptoms this time of the year, Matlock Town friendly always been a family tradition.
I used to go on watch Matlock Town years ago, seen some decent games there in the 90s, watched every home game when they got to the semi finals of the Derbyshire Cup and Unibond Cup against Frickley who had a player, can’t remember his name, long hair, moustache, scored a worldie and ended up signing for Rotherham.
I was at the Lane when they beat Ilkeston Town 5-1 in the Derbyshire cup quarter final. Nick Tilly totally destroyed Ilkeston and their fans went nuts, never seen anything like that at Matlock before, Matlock 2-0 up, Ilkeston pull 1 back, invade the pitch, by the time Ilkeston conceded a 4th their fans slung the metal bin on the pitch and when the final whistle went they chased us all out the ground into the park n everyone scattered completely bonkers game, they’d even covered up the advertising boards with a Combat 18 logo, i f——in hated Ilkeston after that fiasco.

If the weather is relatively dry then yes there will be parking available on the cricket pitch.
