I?m glad you pointed that out again as the facts seem to get lost with some of these clubs people hold as shining beacons. To follow the Brentford model, you need a good model and lashings of cash.

It isn?t just about signing wisely and selling cleverly. We saw that during the breakup of the L1 Playoff team. You have to have the financial clout/desire to retain your best players and build from there. Bournemouth did exactly that but it cost millions upon millions and that?s before they started to add to the squad.

Yup. You may as well say Wrexham is a great model.. Hollywood cash galore is all you need.

Exeter do seem to be new Crewe, recruiting kids at a young age, along with other young player cast offs, and selling them for substantial fees. Can they do this because they are so far away from a Premier League club?

    Bang on, same for me.
Maybe that's why they've set someone on in the scouting role who can follow the Brentford model. Buying and selling at the most opportune moments.
I'm really interested to see who we move on, just as much as who comes in.
    Exciting times ahead, I'm sure.

Brentford? You mean the ?100M plus the owner has put into the model?

His ill gotten gains entirely funded the football club, at the expense of other clubs over the seasons. I don’t think the few Fleetwood fans they have can have any complaints.
And I’m sure he’ll not spend more than 5 or six years in jail.

Bump. Change of ownership announced at Fleetwood.
Fleetwood Town, previously owned by convicted fraudster Andy Pilley, has a new owner, Jamie Pilley, son of convicted fraudster Andy Pilley.

Apparently he?s quick and good on the ball but hasn?t got a tackle in him. Attacking full backs it is!

A bit of background here, a Bristol local rag interview with him back in February.
