Here's an idea - why not go back to where we were, say, five years ago?

With legal routes available for those fleeing horror and persecution?

With proper processing of claims?

With an agreement those not achieving asylum criteria could be returned to where they left?

With folk from nations with 'similar economies' doing jobs that needed doing?

Yeah, what could possibly have happened to prevent all that...

His racist rhetoric is just getting, well, predictably boring, too.

'But hold on...', said TP, '..how can you complain about arrivals from the rest of the world when you campaigned to get rid of Europeans (read: white quasi Christians)?'.

Oh, it's also okay that he's more bothered about campaigning for Trump than his latest ego vehicle here because it's a decision he's taken "reluctantly".

Yeah, how patriotic. How 'courageous'. Nothing to do with already being rejected seven times, either...

They've tried to turn everyone against migrants.

They've tried to turn everyone against the unemployed.

They've tried to turn everyone against the mentally ill.

They've tried to turn everyone against doctors and nurses and rail workers and...and...and...

So now, as none of that's worked, they're targeting the young*...

And the point about Johnson is probably most accurate. He and the rancid Right to whom he pandered expelled pretty much anyone advocating morals or decency or rational thinking, leaving characters like Shapps and Reece-Mogg and Gullis and Hancock (really?) and Anderson (I mean, seriously?!) gaining prominence.

A coup which would've had the Mail-esque media squealing all kindsa conspiracy headlines had it been a left-ist Labour takeover.

Then to follow them with Truss and Sunak...well, any talent pool had obviously become just a slime filled puddle.

It won't be long until the scrap to take over the post election, 'Mad Max' style Tory wasteland begins in earnest, though. Probably in the next week or two. At which point they'll inevitably veer even further to the right perhaps even merging with 'Reform'.

In fact it might be argued the Johnson they cheered and hailed and applauded as he totally corrupted that party could've paved the way for a Blair length time in office for it's opponents...
