Brown field sites seem to have taken a back seat with planning up here these days. Brimington, Inkersall, Dunston, Calow and down Derby Road areas have all had large green fields built on recently, or are about to have houses built on them. Where are all the people coming from who buy these houses?

well prices are going up because demand outstrips supply so someone is buying - increasing life expectancy and single person households are main reasons given...

Brownfield is supposed to be the first place to look and greenfield only if no brownfield available. Hence the conversion of the offices above what was woolies in town to apartments, and why any plans to build on a commercial site are looked on more favourably.

Apparently, Aldi have already put plans to buy the 3 Horse Shoes across the road on hold while they investigate the Robinsons site.

Site is all but clear now, with only a couple of caravans left there, ( presumably customers private owned and not claimed yet)
all we are saying, is give us ...a goal, or 2+

What's happened to that pub? Surely that site isn't remotely big enough for Aldi.

The 3 Horse Shoes has had more managers than customers since pre-Covid.

Assume it was to be some sort of local convenience type store, but the brewery had told the current landlady/manager that they were in negotiations with Aldi to sell.
