So we’ve recently had a Tory Minister quitting at the next election due to his office being firebombed for his pro Israel stance and now Labours deputy leader, and quite possibly our next deputy PM, said she lives in fear after being confronted by Pro Palestine supporters over Labours stance on Gaza…is this what our politics is coming to. If you don’t speak out in a pro Palestine manner or you offer support for Israel, then reap the consequences?
And we still think the masses on the recent marches were decent folk speaking out for the innocent victims or was it just as much about antisemitism and pro Hamas support?

An interest in IQ is normally a thing that the Right care about - anyone who legitimately cares about it is a moron. Suspect Goku is suggesting it slightly tongue in cheek. You're right that it has no bearing on anything and is a made up metric with no real use.

On this topic more generally, genuine threats to MPs obviously need to be taken v seriously but in the Rayner situation this just isn't the case. She was never in any danger whatsoever but already other MPs and newspaper journos are circling the wagons and treating it like she was in actual jeopardy.

Come to that what is intelligence? Only us are in our own heads (thankfully) and know what we know. I know a Professor of Biochemistry…complete brain box but didn’t spot the fact his new used car was a taxi (that had had stickers, radio, plates etc removed). I’ve met people who would seem to be seen as traditionally “intelligent “ who can assemble an engine from scratch. Is that intelligence or repetition?

It was a light hearted response to the seeming insistence on a high IQ, even if people are less intelligent it doesn’t make them any less of a person, hence why an high IA isn’t really an issue in everyday life.

Very short supply.
What I find quite alarming on here, and it’s raised it’s head today on the main forum, is the ability of posters to decry the intelligence of those that don’t agree with their point of view.

Anyway, its stopped raining, the sun is shining so off to do a bit of exploring before its back to work tomorrow and then the long bothered flight back on Wed / Thursday / Friday - only an island hop on Wednesday to be ready for the main flights on Thursday!

Head West next time, the return journey is far less traumatic. Unless the 787 has a main computer glitch followed by a leaking boiler
