Lads, can't believe I have to say this, but you do know that Hitler never won a fair election right?
Came second to von Hindenburg in '32 in the presidential election, and the nazis didn't win a parliamentary majority until they were unopposed in late '33, post-reichstag fire.
On Farage, as I've said before, he's undoubtedly the most successful UK politician of this century - taken a fringe position on EU membership, made it mainstream and changed the consensus. The guy is obviously a bell end but you can't argue he's not been effective.
Hitler may not have won a fair election but he was very successful in terms of achieving his objectives - at least for a short while. A bit like Boris. The trouble is they cant keep it up!
Farage is probably similar...
Lets hope we find someone with longevity because what they espouse is real and relatable for the long term... -

Socialist needs….as in the principles of Socialism. They’re a good start.
Moderate middle…always described myself as philanthropic capitalist 😂. I believe free market capitalism to be the way forward.
Best of a bereft bunch…I’m flattered 😂😂😂. I find the Tories unelectable. Warming to Starmer as an individual. I don’t know what I’m voting for but he’d get my x currently.
ABC…..see it’ll catch on 😂😂
I consider myself a socialist - we should help those who cant but not those who wont, and the richer should help the poorer - but I am not attracted to Starmer as he doesnt seem to have too many principles other than get elected and not be Tory. That may be doing him a disservice and it may show my anti London views..
I'd like to hear how they solve the problems that Chris highlights, especially with no money. The NHS is a sacred cow but the best solutions to me as a socialist are move to a different model, where those that can afford pay privately and those who cant are looked after by the state. The NHS is massively inefficient from my experience and talking to family and friends who work in it (non medical roles) so there is a way to make it better at no extra cost...
I will vote for those who do something radical as tinkering round the edges wont work any more.
I might be swayed by fact I move from being an employee to retired in next working govt probably - I'll reach 65 but if the world is a ###### fest I may stay till 67 or later... -

Another one for Clairvouyant’s benefit and nothing more.
Its entirely feasible that different people want diff teams to win for different reasons. My natural inclination is to Gateshead (mainly for the crap around the play offs) but as a supplier at work who I am currently working closely with is a Solihull fan, I'll be hoping they do it tomorrow, plus losing twice at Wembley in one season is beyond bearable.
I dont care what Clarevoyant says (about Solihull or generally!), I'm thinking about the fans not the club or players..
(But I'd take Osborne tomorrow much as I would happily have decked him last time I watched him live!) and I'm pleased to see Whing doing well... -

Indeed
I’m at the Vase tomorrow but if I’m home in time I may give it 10 mins viewing - may even be some excitement in terms of protests etc!
Enjoy the Vase, working or watching? Solihull get a second chance to win something at Wembley...and of course Gateshead get to make a point after being refused access to the play offs.. despite being more financially sound than many teams already there!

05 Jul 2023 - 20:10Sorry to bother you. I believe you worked for a hotel chain in London and previously had access to discount codes.
It’s a bit of a long shot and very last minute. But could you let me know if this is still the case.
I only ask as my part is due to go to London on Friday and the hotel she was booked into has canceled last minute.
Thanks
