All the names mentioned ie Southgate, pardew etc etc totally uninspiring.

Only one name,

Alex Ferguson get the ******* out of retirement and give him a go. He's the only one capable that the players would look up to, respect and that has a spine to tell them that was blimey pathetic.

I don't care how old he is, still better than the other shower of shits mentioned.

was thinking along similar lines, the England job is a relatively part time job, but would he a proud scot really take it? especially given England play Scotland in world cup qualifiers

Trust me for £4.6 million a year that somehow woy was getting he'd take it.

I reckon it is his only nagging doubt that he turned it down twice before in 199 before Keagan and 2001 before Sven.

Idiot Crouch...let's give it Southgate, part of the FA structure...two mins later...I've no idea who we give it to!
Btw being part of the FA structure should automatically rule him out of further promotion!
East stand second class citizen.

Interesting....I'm still in the Bilic camp, but Hoddle, Ferguson, and Southgate are still good calls.

Hoddle is a moron. He commented that Iceland's football is stuck in the 80's ( referring to the long throw in's they utilise ) and that our ( multi millionaire ) Premier League 'stars' are not used to dealing with such a threat as they don't encounter it in the best league in the world. There's no wonder everyone likes to see us fail when we have pundits spouting arrogant garbage like that.

No mate, it's true; our system and style of football has changed since the premier league started, loads of foreign players and foreign managers. The Iceland team play a solid 442 and employ old school tactics which we are not used to playing against.

Ps it's not an excuse, we should easily be able to deal with long throw ins...

In hindsight shame he didn't have andy Carroll at least as another option around these sort of games. Saying that surely Kane could have been effective in that sort of roll instead of playing midfield, wing and f...in. free kick, corner taker!

Shearer's just thrown his hat into the ring, I'd be happy to see him get it

Hmmmm international experience, tournament experience, will say how it is but has no actual managerial experience (Newcastle was too short).

It's defending a ball into the box that you know Iceland utilise time and time again. You can set up a kids team to defend a long ball into the box. It's not the conceding of the goal that sticks in the throat, it's the total lack of organisation at the back and fact that we lose the first ball and don't react to the second ball. It's not even schoolboy stuff.

I know what you mean about the game changing but regarding foreign players and managers, I can't imagine the Italians being quite so soft and niaive.

Can't argue about lack of experience, but we've had all the experience possible with all other managers, time to change the flawed strategy.
