Looking forward to the Oldham players giving us a guard of honour as we walk into the pitch as champions, although there would be a perverse pleasure in having the trophy presented on the pitch at Oldham that is best left after we have thumped Maidenhead 5-0 in the final game

Per the most recent podcast, Phil Tooley said no matter when we win the league, the presentation will indeed be at the Maidenhead game.

A per pro nothing, apparently also, we haven’t won promotion at home since the 1930s.

They are more likely to raise their middle digit at us, and the fans throw a few smoke bombs.

If Bromley and Barnet only achieve the ppg they currently have at the end of the season, then 7 more points for us will suffice.

Love Danny Webb’s attitude though- no letting up.

Contrast that with Andy Whing’s.
He keeps saying his team is doing brilliantly although they are manifestly underperforming. Unfortunately, a recipe for the sack.

Mathematically, we could in theory win the league at Barnet. Wins for us and losses for both Barnet and Bromley in every game upto the 27th would only put us on 92 which could still be matched by Barnet if we lost all the remaining fixtures and they won all theirs.

It is very hard to see any of the chasing pack finishing with more than 90 points.

Agreed. Barnet need 2.27ppg while Bromley need 2.29ppg. Altringham actually look the more likely on current for and still need a whopping 2.4ppg.
Here we go again!

until its done just keep going.

many years ago when fulham were on the rise they came to saltergate and sang " you'll never play us again"... in the league we haven't, be nice to sing this to maidenhead on the final day as they have been a real pain in the backside during the last few years.

Not for me. Celebrate our success not their failings. I never thought I’d see us play NL and wouldn’t come if we did. But I have and I do. Onwards and upwards.

I remember coming out of Saltergate end of 69/70 season as a young lad and saying to my Dad, “I never want to see 4th division football ever again.”
Getting back into the league would only be the start of the hard work.

Altrincham have 3 games on the trot next so the chasing pack could look a little different come the end of the week.
God I hate this league.

And of course we finished 5th the next season, 2 points behind Villa. We stayed in league tier three for 13 seasons. No yo yo then.

In this period of broken records, another first next season - our first ever back to back promotions?

Woking could be effectively "ticked off" tonight if they lose or draw and we win.
